Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, is leading an investigation of the dissolved Jan. 6 select committee and security failures surrounding the riot.<\/p>\n<p>The probe is in its beginning stages, Loudermilk said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got to get through the documents. We need to do some interviews with people. But at some point, we will have some hearings,\u201d Loudermilk said, also adding the panel is reviewing video from Jan. 6, 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The House Administration Committee <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cha.house.gov\/contact\/capitol-security-info-portal-submission\">has set up a \u201cCapitol Security Info\u201d portal<\/a>\u00a0on its website to collect tips from \u201cindividuals with knowledge of the events of January 6th and the Select Committee\u201d about the security of the Capitol, delay in support from the National Guard and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to give a serious, in-depth investigation into what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened that day, which the J6 committee didn\u2019t do. We need to know, where were the security failures \u2026 as well as what do we need to do to fix it?\u201d Loudermilk said.<\/p>\n<p>Loudermilk was unsure if he will aim to talk to any members of the Jan. 6 select committee \u2013 and if he does, whether subpoenas would be on the table.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would hope that, you know, they\u2019d just come and talk. This is not going to be a gotcha. This is getting to the truth,\u201d Loudermilk said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have long criticized the Jan. 6 Select Committee, which disbanded at the end of the last Congress, for placing large focus on former President Trump\u2019s role in the Jan. 6 riots rather than on the security posture of the Capitol on that day.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>In December, the Republicans who were originally selected by now-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to sit on the Jan. 6 select committee \u2014 then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) shot down his choices \u2014 released a counter-report\u00a0about security failures. That report largely focused on changes to Capitol Police security protocols leading up to Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<p>A <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hsgac.senate.gov\/media\/majority-media\/peters-portman-klobuchar-blunt-release-bipartisan-report-investigating-january-6th-capitol-attack\/\">bipartisan Senate report<\/a>\u00a0in 2021 also focused on the security, planning and response failures relating to the Jan. 6 attack.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Loudermilk has some personal beef with the select committee, which asked him to sit\u00a0for voluntarily interview to discuss a tour he gave to constituents in a House office buildings on Jan. 5, 2021. Loudermilk did not sit for the interview.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Video shared by the committee claimed that one of the men from that tour marched toward the Capitol on Jan. 6, saying: \u201cThere\u2019s no escape Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler. We\u2019re coming for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Loudermilk\u2019s office last year shared a letter from the Capitol Police chief saying of its own review of the footage: \u201cWe do not consider any of the activities we observed as suspicious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Loudermilk appeared on Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> host Tucker Carlson\u2019s show this week as a part of a segment revealing never-before-seen security footage\u00a0from Jan. 6, after McCarthy granted Carlson access to the footage.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) said Wednesday that Democrats owe Loudermilk an apology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey implied things about him that weren\u2019t true that those tapes revealed,\u201d Scalise said.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
