A Tuscaloosa County grand jury then officially indicted them on a murder charge for the death of Jamea Harris on Friday. Miles was removed from the Alabama basketball team the day he was arrested, and the cases were sent to a grand jury after a preliminary hearing last month.<\/p>\n<p>Miles and Davis, along with others, reportedly left a bar in Tuscaloosa late on Jan. 14, when an altercation broke out between Davis and Harris\u2019 boyfriend, Cedric Johnson, near Harris\u2019 vehicle. Miles said he returned to get Davis and end the verbal altercation, but that he saw a gun being passed inside the car as he was doing so. Johnson has said that wasn\u2019t true, and that it was food being passed around.<\/p>\n<p>Miles then texted Alabama star <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/police-say-alabama-star-brandon-miller-delivered-gun-to-former-teammate-darius-miles-before-shooting-190251065.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Brandon Miller, asking him to bring him his gun;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">Brandon Miller, asking him to bring him his gun<\/a>. Miller arrived just before 1:45 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Minutes later, police said <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/alabama-basketball-player-darius-miles-provided-gun-in-fatal-shooting-court-documents-state-214623139.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Davis \u2014 after getting the gun from Miles \u2014 walked to the driver\u2019s side;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">Davis \u2014 after getting the gun from Miles \u2014 walked to the driver\u2019s side<\/a> of Harris\u2019 car and started shooting. Johnson returned fire, and Harris was shot and killed.<\/p>\n<p>Both Miles and Davis have been held in Tuscaloosa County Jail since they were arrested, and were denied bail. They are expected to be tried separately. Miles admitted to providing Davis the gun used in the fatal shooting, which led to a capital murder charge for \u201caiding and abetting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;capital&#8221; designation was added due to the victim being killed in a vehicle. His attorney contens that Miller was already on his way to pick up Miles when Miles texted him asking for his gun. The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/police-say-alabama-star-brandon-miller-delivered-gun-to-former-teammate-darius-miles-before-shooting-190251065.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:gun was allegedly already in the backseat of the car;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">gun was allegedly already in the backseat of the car<\/a>, and Miller has said he didn\u2019t know it was there and that he never touched the gun.
