If you want to continue staking, no action is required. Your staking rewards may actually increase.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While the notion of Coinbase\u2019s staking rewards continuing and potentially increasing may irk the SEC, the clear distinction around protocol rewards and being a service provider <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be a move to avoid any potential gray area issues that competing exchange Kraken recently faced. <\/p>\n<p>As Cointelegraph reported, Kraken agreed to pay a $30 million settlement on Feb. 9 for allegedly failing to register its staking-as-a-service program with the SEC. As part of the deal, Kraken can no longer offer staking services in the U.S. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <\/strong><strong>Coinbase CEO reiterates that \u2018staking\u2019 products aren\u2019t securities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A key part alleged in the SEC\u2019s complaint, was that users lost control of their tokens by offering them to Kraken\u2019s staking program, and investors were offered \u201coutsized returns untethered to any economic realities\u201d with Kraken also able to pay \u201cno returns at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coinbase has argued on multiple occasions that its staking services are fundamentally different to Kraken\u2019s.
