They\u2019ll be about all the state of people and businesses that still want it, after e-commerce demand cooled off last year and FedEx<br \/>\n        FDX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203047719\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-2.66%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       itself embarked on a quest to slash billions in costs.<\/p>\n<p> The company will report alongside several retailers and software names \u2014 like Adobe Inc. and Gitlab Inc. \u2014 as the collapse of SVB Financial Group<br \/>\n        SIVB,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/200548254\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-60.41%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       raises further questions about the future shape of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> sector landscape. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       FedEx in recent months has called out a \u201cweaker demand environment\u201d and an \u201ce-commerce reset\u201d that has weighed on sales. Even so, the company has raised shipping prices this year, and is still extracting more money out of each delivery \u2014 helped by extra fees that offset fuel costs \u2014 even as shipping volumes fade. As part of an effort to save money, FedEx has grounded jets and cut back on flights and ground-service routes, and said it would close some locations that offer copying and printing services. <\/p>\n<p>As FedEx tries to lower expenses, investors, ever focused on profit, have come around. Shares have rebounded since September. <\/p>\n<p>But analysts will be focused on concrete details. TD Cowen analyst Helane Becker, in a research note on Friday, said she would be focused on signs of progress surrounding FedEx\u2019s cost-cutting campaign. She said that she\u2019d also be looking for updates on where volumes, pricing and e-commerce demand were headed. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the economy has reopened, we have seen a decline in online ordering,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are wondering if there has been any change in the outlook.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other analysts said they would also be watching for any specifics on FedEx\u2019s efforts to cut costs. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of our constructive view on FedEx is the catalyst path through and beyond earnings,\u201d Citi analyst Christian Wetherbee said in a research note this week. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we think meeting\/beating estimates is a key to the story in order to build credibility, we also see a detailed walk through the next $4b of cost reductions and potentially some preview\/pull forward of Network 2.0 as further positive catalysts near-term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Analysts at Wolfe Research said FedEx had room to cut more deeply. <\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cParcel pricing remains solid, we see market share opportunities for\u00a0FDX\u00a0this year, and with lots to fix, the company\u2019s cost reductions feel increasingly structural to us with potential for even more,\u201d they said. \u201cSo,\u00a0FDX\u00a0feels like a unique story in transports right now with trough EPS already behind us, and with significant EPS upside potential in F25.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some analysts were more cautious on the broader freight industry. Both the shipping and software industries have seen demand wane over the past year, after the e-commerce boom from COVID-19\u2019s quarantine in 2020 and 2021 gave way to pent-up demand for <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> and entertainment, and price increases for basics. After unwanted clothing, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>liances and electronics piled up in retailers\u2019 stockrooms, store chains \u2014 after cutting prices to sell off much of that surplus \u2014 are staying cautious to keep investors happy. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRetailers seem unlikely to shift from de-stocking to re-stocking near-term, with no \u2018tale of two halves\u2019 pitches like in transports,\u201d Bascome Majors, a Susquehanna Financial analyst who covers logistics and trucking, said in a note this month. \u201cWe remain cautious toward freight volumes and pricing into 2Q.\u201d  <\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"This_Week_In_Earnings\"><\/span>This Week In Earnings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Elsewhere during the week, Buzzfeed Inc.<br \/>\n        BZFD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/225161361\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.78%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       reports on Monday, following layoffs there and elsewhere in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> industry. Meal-kit provider Blue Apron Holdings<br \/>\n        APRN,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203710464\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.71%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       reports on Thursday, as it weighs a \u201cpotential business combination\u201d following a return to restaurants after COVID-19 lockdowns and a big drop in its stock price.
