Their hit TV shows <em>The Suite Life of Zack and Cody<\/em> and its eventual spin-off, <em>The Suite Life on Deck<\/em>, were huge hits for <strong>The <\/strong><strong>Disney Channel<\/strong>. Even before that they were working child actors in films like\u00a0<em>Big Daddy<\/em> and shows like <em>Friends<\/em> and <em>That \u201970s Show<\/em>. But is that what the Sprouse twins really wanted for themselves? According to Cole, maybe not\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Cole Reveals He\u2019s Been Cheated On A LOT<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>On Monday\u2019s episode of <em>The<\/em> <em>Diary of a CEO<\/em>, the now 30-year-old former child star sat down with host <strong>Steven Bartlett<\/strong> and opened up about his struggles with mom <strong>Melanie Wright<\/strong> for the first time ever:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-640ff1b423d12-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMy mother was, and still is, the tortured artist type. She struggled with, in many different ways, her place in the world.\u00a0I think she found a tremendous sense of self-identity through motherhood, and tried to turn it into a profitable business at the same time, which for identical twin boys going into acting is an economic loophole \u2013 there are labor laws that can be incredibly profitable, so that\u2019s what she did.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Tried to turn motherhood into \u201ca profitable business\u201d? Whoa. The profits are no joke, either. Child labor laws keep productions from using a young performer nearly as long as everyone else can work. So to fill out days, the practice of using twins to play the same role \u2014 such as the\u00a0<strong>Olsen Twins<\/strong> \u2014 has become well-known tradition.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Continuing, the actor said:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-640ff1b423d16-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cIt made a lot of financial sense for her to push us into acting. I think it satisfied some sort of narcissism she probably had in order to be recognized as some sort of artistic success. She was a wonderful painter, so she always wanted some sort of artistic recognition and validation. But as time went on I think the entertainment industry just kind of broke her.\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wow. Such harsh words about his mother\u2019s motives! But we guess he\u2019s been closer to the situation for longer than anyone else (except, obviously, for his bro).<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>The <em>Riverdale<\/em> star went on to reveal at one point he and Dylan were placed in sole custody of his father, after Melanie was deemed \u201cunfit\u201d to parent them:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-640ff1b423d1a-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cThis industry encourages the worst qualities of you as a person\u2026 selfishness, greed. A lot of these things that we have come to know as cardinal sins. It\u2019s one of those things that encouraged a kind of selfishness that\u2019s directly opposed to the fundamental idea of motherhood.\u00a0And as I grew older, in my case the court had to step in and send my brother and I towards my father, who\u2019s an incredible guy. But that selfishness is something the legal system also observed, and said that she was unfit, and I think as I have aged I\u2019ve looked back on a lot of circumstances of that entire environment and I see a person that gr<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>les with mental illness, drug abuse, but primarily narcissism.\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He admitted his mother\u2019s struggles didn\u2019t fit with her desire to have a family:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cA wicked narcissism. The inability to perceive anything out of your own perspective, and that just doesn\u2019t work with being a mother, with being a family in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-640ff1b423d1d-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Wow.
