He expressed his view on March 15 after a commission meeting on cybersecurity issues.<\/p>\n<p>Gensler was asked by reporters about his reaction to statements made by Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Rostin Behnam at a Senate Agricultural Committee meeting last week that he felt stablecoin and Ether (ETH) were \u201cgoing to be commodities.\u201d Gensler replied, as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/220297\/gensler-suggests-proof-of-stake-tokens-are-securities\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/www-theblock-co.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/www.theblock.co\/amp\/post\/220297\/gensler-suggests-proof-of-stake-tokens-are-securities\">reported<\/a> in The Block:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe investing public is investing anticipating a return, anticipating something on these tokens, whether they\u2019re proof-of-stake tokens, where they\u2019re also looking to get returns on those proof-of-stake tokens and getting 2%, 4%, 18% returns.\u201d  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhatever they\u2019re promoting and putting into a protocol, and locking up their tokens in a protocol, a protocol that\u2019s often a small group of entrepreneurs and developers are developing, I would just suggest that each of these token operators [&#8230;] seek to come into compliance, and the same with the inter<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>ries,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Gensler has voiced his opinion on proof-of-stake coins before. Gensler said at the time, \u201cIf they want to offer staking, we\u2019re neutral.
