Euler hacker seemingly taking their chances, sends funds to crypto mixer &#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjMtMDMvZWYzZTc5M2ItMDM0Mi00ZjA0LTkzYzktODRmY2YzZjYxMDUxLmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-48054ca8>The hacker responsible for the $196 million attack on Euler Finance has begun moving funds into crypto mixer Tornado Cash, only hours after a $1 million bounty was launched to uncover the hacker&#8217;s identity.<\/p>\n<p>Blockchain analytics firm PeckShield tweeted on March 16 that the exploiter behind the flash loan attack on the Ethereum noncustodial lending protocol was \u201con the move.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The exploiter transferred 1,000 Ether (ETH), <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roximately $1.65 million, through sanctioned crypto mixer Tornado Cash.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/PeckShieldAlert?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#PeckShieldAlert<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eulerfinance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@eulerfinance<\/a> exploiter on the move<br \/>~1,000 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a> into Tornado Cash through inter<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>ry address 0xc66d&#8230;c9a<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LAkY66YpoF\">https:\/\/t.co\/LAkY66YpoF<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0XhQV1nbgn\">pic.twitter.com\/0XhQV1nbgn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PeckShieldAlert (@PeckShieldAlert) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeckShieldAlert\/status\/1636181545345228800?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 16, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>It comes only hours after Euler Labs <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eulerfinance\/status\/1636126837423366145\">tweeted<\/a> it&#8217;s launching a $1 million reward for information leading \u201cto the Euler protocol attacker\u2019s arrest and the return of all funds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just a day earlier, Euler sent an on-chain message to the exploiter&#8217;s address on March 14 warning it would launch a bounty \u201cthat leads to your arrest and the return of all funds\u201d if 90% wasn&#8217;t returned within 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>The movement of the funds to the crypto mixer could indicate that the hacker is not being swayed by Euler&#8217;s amnesty offer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Peckshield noted that around 100 ETH, worth $165,202 at the time of writing, was sent to a wallet address that is likely owned by one of the victims. An on-chain message sent by the wallet address had earlier pleaded for the attacker for the return of their &#8220;life savings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WOW!<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eulerfinance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@eulerfinance<\/a> Exploiter returned 100 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ETH<\/a> to some guy who begged him for the money back as it was his life savings<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Gz9aCUZB0H\">https:\/\/t.co\/Gz9aCUZB0H<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DhZBenqtuS\">pic.twitter.com\/DhZBenqtuS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Wazz (@WazzCrypto) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WazzCrypto\/status\/1636182927410180097?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 16, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This led to a slew of other victims sending messages to the address in hopes of also getting their funds returned.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related:<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Euler attack causes locked tokens, losses in 11 DeFi protocols, including Balancer<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One message<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/YFarmX\/status\/1636197846683643905\"> stated<\/a> they \u201care twenty-six families from jobless rural areas,\u201d who lost \u201ca million USDT in total,\u201d adding their share of funds in the protocol was the \u201clife-savings from our past decades of work in factories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another apparent victim messaged the attacker congratulating them on the \u201cbig win\u201d and said they invested funds into Euler they \u201cdesperately needed\u201d for a house.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMy wife is going to kill me if we can\u2019t afford our house [&#8230;] Is there anyway [sic] you can help me?
