SBF&#8217;s inner circle received $3.2B, mainly from Alameda: Court filings &#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjMtMDMvMmJmMjZkNTMtNGQ2Mi00M2E3LWIxYzgtM2JkYzQ4MjkxOWExLmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-48054ca8>FTX and Alameda Research&#8217;s former top brass received $3.2 billion in payments and loans from FTX-linked entities, according to the FTX administrators handling the firm&#8217;s restructuring.<\/p>\n<p>FTX, now helmed by CEO John Ray III, has been tracking missing funds from the exchange since its collapse, which it estimates to be $8.9 billion in total.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/ftx-debtors-file-schedules-and-statements-of-financial-affairs-with-bankruptcy-court-301773613.html\">According<\/a> to a March 15 statement from FTX Debtors, financial statements it filed in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court point to billions of dollars worth of loans and payments that allegedly flowed to Sam Bankman-Fried and high-ranking executives, which came mainly from trading house Alameda Research.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sharing the FTX Debtors\u2019 press release just issued: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/r7PlneGSXF\">https:\/\/t.co\/r7PlneGSXF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 FTX (@FTX_Official) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FTX_Official\/status\/1636170833868496896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 16, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Bankman-Fried however reportedly received the lion\u2019s share of the funds at $2.2 billion. <\/p>\n<p>Others named in the list include former FTX director Nishad Singh, FTX co-founder Gary Wang, and former CEO of Alameda Research Caroline Ellison, among others. <\/p>\n<p>It provided a rough breakdown of the payments made to the FTX executives, as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$2.2 billion to Sam Bankman-Fried<\/li>\n<li>$587 million to Nishad Singh \u2014 former FTX director of engineering<\/li>\n<li>$246 million to Zixiao &#8220;Gary&#8221; Wang \u2014 FTX cofounder<\/li>\n<li>$87 million to Ryan Salame \u2014 former co-CEO, FTX Digital Markets (FTX\u2019s Bahamian entity)<\/li>\n<li>$25 million to John Samuel Trabucco \u2014 former co-CEO, Alameda<\/li>\n<li>$6 million to Caroline Ellison \u2014 former CEO, Alameda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The amounts exclude over $240 million used for various purchases, such as luxury properties in the Bahamas, donations to political and charitable causes and \u201csubstantial transfers\u201d to non-FTX subsidiaries, it noted.<\/p>\n<p>FTX\u2019s management said it is currently investigating its rights to pursue potential action against the recipients, along with their subsequent transferees, and that ongoing efforts are \u201cexpected to result in the further identification of assets, liabilities and transfers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It added it\u2019s looking at ways to claw back the funds from the former executives but said the \u201camount and timing of eventual monetary recoveries cannot be predicted at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Sam Bankman-Fried\u2019s bail conditions still too lenient, says judge<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bankman-Fried is facing 12 charges relating to conspiracy, wire and securities fraud in connection to the alleged mishandling of funds at FTX and its affiliates. He previously plead not guilty to eight similar original charges.<\/p>\n<p>Ellison, Wang and Singh have pleaded guilty to charges similar to those brought against Bankman-Fried and are cooperating with investigations spearheaded by federal prosecutors. <\/p>\n<p>The first known instance of an executive from FTX or Alameda assisting authorities came as Salame blew the whistle to Bahamian regulators of the potential fraud being perpetrated at FTX which lead them to shutter the exchange just two days later on Nov. 11.<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"law_decoded\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
