The ensemble voice cast includes\u00a0Lana Condor\u00a0in the titular role, Toni Collette\u00a0as her overprotective mother and Jane Fonda\u00a0as Ruby\u2019s commanding grandmother, in addition to Colman Domingo,\u00a0Annie Murphy, Sam Richardson and\u00a0Blue Chapman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    DiMicco was Oscar-nominated for DreamWorks Animation\u2019s <em>The Croods <\/em>and most recent helmed <em>Vivo, <\/em>the animated Lin Manuel-Miranda musical, for Netflix. And Jane Fonda is returning to animation after voicing a lead role in last year\u2019s <em>Luck <\/em>for Skydance Animation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    The coming-of-age movie was originally called <em>Meet the Gillmans<\/em>. Condor plays Ruby Gillman, a shy high school student desperate to fit in, only to find she is a direct descendant of the warrior Kraken queens and will inherit the throne from her commanding grandmother, the Warrior Queen of the Seven Seas. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    The supporting cast also includes\u00a0Will Forte,\u00a0Nicole Byer,\u00a0Liza Koshy,\u00a0Jaboukie Young-White,\u00a0Ramona Young,\u00a0Eduardo Franco\u00a0and\u00a0Echo Kellum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Kelly Cooney Cilella (<em>Trolls World Tour,\u00a0Trolls<\/em>) is producing. De Micco and Condor are represented by CAA. Collette is represented by CAA and United Management in Australia.
