In a statement, it said Noah was chosen \u201cfor his inspired contribution to the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a> \u2018In Praise of Folly,\u2019 named after Erasmus\u2019 most famous book, which is filled with humor, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> criticism and political satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    It added: \u201cWith his sharp-minded, mocking yet inclusive political comedy, Noah, in the eyes of the jury, upholds the \u2018Erasmian Spirit.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    The award \u2014\u00a0which is given annually to a \u201cperson or institution that has made an exceptional contribution to the humanities, the social <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>s or the arts, in Europe and beyond\u201d \u2014\u00a0comes with a cash prize of Euros 150,000 ($159,000). <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Noting that Noah\u2019s time as host of <em>The Daily Show<\/em> coincided with Donald Trump\u2019s presidency, COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter moves, the Foundation praised the comic for \u201chis astute reflections on such issues,\u201d adding he had \u201cgarnered a young, diverse and global audience and, in the process, infused a highly polarized media landscape with a breath of fresh air.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Noah made the shock announcement in September that he was leaving <em>The Daily Show<\/em> after a seven-year stint and officially signed-off in December.
