\n A Colorado man was allegedly stabbed this week by an unhinged stranger who yelled \u201cBlack Lives Matter!\u201d\u00a0 during a terrifying attack authorities called a hate crime, reports said.<\/p>\n

The attack happ<\/a>ened Tuesday evening in Aurora when the victim, identified only as Michael, was walking his dog at his family\u2019s apartment complex, he told the Fox affiliate in Denver.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, the suspect, identified by authorities as Steve Anthony Sinclair, 30, ran at Michael from a porch, allegedly brandishing a pair of steak knives, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe looked at me and jumped over the thing and said, \u2018I\u2019m going to kill you, you and your dog,’\u201d Michael, who is white, told the station.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had two knives and he just jumped on top of me and he was yelling \u2018Black lives matter \u2014 you should know my name!’\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael told cops he tried to run away and defend himself with a stick, but Sinclair, who is black, allegedly managed to stab him in the side.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe collapsed my lung \u2014 I have a puncture in my diaphragm,\u201d Michael told the station.<\/p>\n

A blood-splattered Sinclair, who is black, allegedly confessed, telling arresting officers that he is a \u201cpsychopath,\u201d according to the police reports cited by Fox.<\/p>\n

Sinclair has been charged with attempted murder as a hate-crime, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

Michael and his girlfriend told Fox they no longer feel safe at their apartment complex \u2014 and that they\u2019re looking to move out as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe ruined our small little happy life right now,\u201d the girlfriend told Fox; she was not identified by name.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can\u2019t work for six weeks,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
