Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) after the Florida governor knocked him in an interview with Fox Nation\u2019s Piers Morgan, another clash between the two GOP figures as they prepare for what could be a 2024 presidential primary match-up.<\/p>\n<p>In <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/21\/ron-desantis-opens-fire-on-trumps-character-chaotic-style\/\">an interview set to air<\/a> on Fox Nation\u2019s \u201cPiers Morgan Uncensored\u201d Thursday and published in part <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/21\/i-can-win-presidency-desantis-tells-piers-morgan-how-he-can-beat-biden\/\">by The New York Post<\/a>, DeSantis shifted from his previously veiled stance to more directly addressing the former president\u2019s attacks with jabs of his own toward Trump\u2019s character and leadership. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Trump, who is facing a looming indictment in New York over a hush money payment to the adult film star Stormy Daniels, took to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/110067987774779058\">Truth Social to respond<\/a> to DeSantis. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I am fighting against Radical Left Lunatics, Persecutors, and unfair Prosecutors who want to destroy us all, Ron DeSanctimonious is not working for the people of Florida as he should be, he is too busy chatting with a Ratings Challenged TV Host from England, desperately trying to rescue his failing Campaign\u2014But it\u2019s my fault, I put him there!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s remarks underline his team\u2019s effort to cast DeSantis as disloyal to him in the face of New York prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis has criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, but has also swiped at Trump\u2019s association with Daniels. <\/p>\n<p>Trump announced his 2024 campaign just after the midterms in November \u2014 and while DeSantis hasn\u2019t formally announced a bid, he\u2019s hinted that he\u2019s gearing up for a possible bid and could make a decision once Florida\u2019s legislative session wraps up in May.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A range of 2024 polling has indicated DeSantis could be a top challenger to the former president as he tries for another four years in the White House.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>But Trump-aligned super PAC Make America Great Again Inc. has claimed that DeSantis\u2019s interview with Morgan was the Florida governor \u201clashing out against President Trump because his poll numbers keep falling.\u201d The group noted <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/polling-institute\/reports\/monmouthpoll_us_032123_2\/\">a Monmouth University poll<\/a>\u00a0this month that found Trump up 14 points over DeSantis after a February poll had the two tied. <\/p>\n<p>Trump endorsed DeSantis when he ran for governor in Florida back in 2018, a move the former president has since said he \u201cprobably\u201d regrets. DeSantis told Morgan of the pair\u2019s relationship that \u201cthe major thing that\u2019s h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened that\u2019s changed his tune was my re-election victory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his latest Truth <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social<\/a> post on the Florida governor, Trump notably used his \u201cRon DeSanctimonious\u201d moniker, which Trump\u00a0coined\u00a0ahead of midterms and has reportedly workshopped as part of his campaign prep. DeSantis said in the Morgan interview that he \u201ckinda\u201d likes the nickname.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know how to spell the sanctimonious one.
