During the second day of Paris Blockchain Week (PBW) 2023, a group of professionals from the ecosystem took the Venus de Milo stage to discuss the \u201cEthics of Web3.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The panel kicked off with moderator Moojan Ashghari, co-founder of Thousand Faces Web3 investment club, saying that the ethical framework or standard of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> will always lag behind the introduction of the technology. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is the biggest challenge of ethics \u2014 what are the right questions to ask ourselves today in order to make sure that the technology doesn\u2019t harm us in the near or far future.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The panelists unanimously agreed that innovation typically comes before any ethical standard is implemented. Margaux Frisque, a co-founder of and legal adviser to the Women in Web3 Association, pointed to the upcoming Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework in the European Union. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-03\/6e5d12c5-beba-45b9-8ffc-311c9d1007eb.jpg\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Paris Blockchain Week 2023. Source: Cointelegraph<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She spoke to MiCA being \u201cinspired by feedback from [past] operations\u201d and will soon oblige businesses to segregate the funds of their clients from other bank accounts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThat\u2019s an example of good behavior that has been turned into hard law, soon to be implemented in the entire EU. It\u2019s a good example of turning ethics into our law to protect people and innovation.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>PBW hosted an\u00a0entire panel on the upcoming MiCA regulations, during which industry experts and regulators discussed the implications of European lawmakers\u2019 proposals. Thus far, the proposal has faced several delays\u00a0but is set for a final vote in April 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u2018Get comfortable with discomfort\u2019 for Web3 success: PBW 2023<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Loic Brotons, CEO of Galeon, echoed this sentiment of behavior influencing ethics, saying, \u201cmixing innovation and ethics is a bit complicated.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cUsually, innovation comes first and sometimes we have really bad things h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en.
