The second season of Girlfriend, Girlfriend<\/em> is set to begin airing in October. It was also revealed that this new season is produced by Synergy SP<\/strong> instead of Tezuka Production<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Keiichirou Oochi<\/strong> is returning as series<\/a> composer, while Takatoshi Suzuki<\/strong> (A Couple of Cuckoos<\/em> episode director) and Shouko Hagiwara<\/strong> (A Couple of Cuckoos<\/em> chief animation director) are taking over as director and character designer, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was also announced that Aoi Koga<\/strong> is joining the cast as Risa Hoshizaki, the younger sister of Rika Hoshizaki.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first season of the<\/span>\u00a0Girlfriend<\/span>,\u00a0<\/em>Girlfriend<\/em><\/span> anime premiered in July last year and ran for 12 episodes. The manga, which is serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, began in March 2020 and has 14 tankoubon volumes as of February this year. Production of the first season was decided eight months after the manga began serialization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Naoya just got a girlfriend, the gorgeous Saki-chan, and though their intensities often pit them against each other like ice and fire, they\u2019re totally, uncontrollably in love with each other. He vows never to cheat\u2026when out of the blue he receives another confession! Nagisa\u2019s cute, sweet, and she\u2019s made him lunch to boot!
