\n Derek Luke, best known for his starring role turn in Denzel Washington\u2019s directorial debut Antwone Fisher,<\/em> has signed with Gersh for representation.<\/p>\n

\n Luke, a veteran film and TV actor, has recent credits that include Disney+\u2019s The Crossover, <\/em>a coming-of-age drama about two middle school basketball prodigies based on a novel by Kwame Alexander, to bow on April 5. The actor also app<\/a>ears in two movies<\/a> directed by Katie Holmes: Alone Together<\/em> and Rare Objects.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n Luke reunited with Holmes after their work in Pieces of April.<\/em>\u00a0He earned an Independent Spirit Award for his breakout role as Hollywood newcomer in Antwone Fisher.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n Luke\u2019s other work includes Silas Howard\u2019s Darby and the Dead <\/em>for Hulu, Dreamworks\u2019 Biker Boyz<\/em>, Pete Berg\u2019s Friday Night Lights<\/em>, Phillip Noyce\u2019s Catch a Fire<\/em>, Spike Lee\u2019s Miracle at St. Anna<\/em> and Marvel\u2019s Captain America, <\/em>where he appeared opposite Chris Evans.<\/p>\n

\n On the big screen, Luke also appeared in Ali LeRoi\u2019s American Refugee <\/em>for Blumhouse and Epix, Tarsem Singh\u2019s Self\/Less<\/em>, which also starred Ryan Reynolds, Chris Messina\u2019s Alex of Venice <\/em>and Baggage Claim, <\/em>directed by David Talbert.<\/p>\n

\n Luke\u2019s TV credits also include Netflix\u2019s 13 Reasons Why<\/em>, USA\u2019s The Purge<\/em>, appearing opposite Thandie Newton in DirecTV\u2019s suspense drama Rogue<\/em>, and FX\u2019s The Americans.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n Luke had recurring roles in Fox\u2019s Empire<\/em> and TNT\u2019s Hawthorne<\/em>, and was a series regular on NBC\u2019s paramedic drama Trauma.<\/em><\/p>\n
