Some of those unicorns include the buy-now-pay-later fintech firm<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.klarna.com\/nl\/\"> Klarna<\/a>, lithium-ion battery developer<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/northvolt.com\/\"> Northvolt<\/a>, and e-mobility provider<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.voi.com\/\"> Voi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stockholm\u2019s fertile landscape reflects Sweden\u2019s overall growth in the tech sector. The company recently <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.exeger.com\/updates\/exeger-and-ses-imagotag-to-pioneer-a-sustainable-approach-to-commerce\/\">secured a partnership with SES-imagotag<\/a> to provide an alternative source of power to the electronic labels and IoT devices the company supplies to retailers. The scaleup envisions further applications for its technology in consumer electronics, IoT, and smart workplaces.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sesamy\"><\/span>Sesamy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sesamy was co-founded in 2021 by M\u00e5ns Ulvestam, Karl Rosander, and Markus Ahlstrand \u2014 the same trio that founded <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.acast.com\/\">Acast<\/a>, the global podcast giant.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sesamy.com\/\">Sesamy<\/a> also operates in the digital <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> realm, but with a focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> and magazine content. The company targets publishers who want to offer their readers an option to purchase a single article as a complement to subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission is to enable people to actually pay for good quality journalism, while helping publishers increase their incremental revenue,\u201d Ulvestam tells me. And that\u2019s what <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/xshore.com\/\">X Shore<\/a> set out to do.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2022, the company launched its second model, the X Shore 1, following the release of its first commercial boat, the Eelex 8000, in 2020. Both models come with a modular design for increased functionality and can be configured with various layouts that accommodate activities from fishing and diving to watersports and socialising \u2014 thus reducing the need for multiple boat ownership.<\/p>\n<p>X Shore\u2019s vessels also feature smart boating capabilities, including overboard detection, navigation, and range estimate. For operators of multiple vessels, it also offers a Fleet Management System for connected X Shore boats. The startup raised almost \u20ac50 million in its latest funding round.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Alight\"><\/span>Alight<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alight-energy.com\/\">Alight<\/a> is a leading Nordic provider of solar power-as-a-service, co-founded in 2013 by Dr Harald Overholm, Richard Nicolin, and Wilhelm Lowenhielm. The scaleup develops, owns, and operates solar projects for businesses that want to switch to renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>Alight helps companies cover their energy needs either with offsite installations in the form of solar farms, or with onsite installations of panels on rooftops, parking lots, or unused land. The scaleup provides energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) \u2014 fixed term contracts at a pre-negotiated price lasting between 10 and 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s decision to focus on commercial solar stems from two reasons, according to co-founder and CEO Dr Harald Overholm. First comes the fact that 70% of power worldwide is used by companies. It also handles Sweden\u2019s largest operational solar park to date, and is set to have an installed capacity of at least 5GW by 2030. Businesses can select organisations from five different causes, such as wildlife and climate transformation.<\/p>\n<p>The platform also offers transparent and traceable reporting of the companies\u2019 donations and impact metrics, which can be used to engage stakeholders and customers. To facilitate that, Milkyware provides integrated tools that enable customers to contribute to the same causes.<\/p>\n<p>The startup currently counts numerous partner companies, including Klarna, PANGAIA, and Footway. We\u2019re not keeping our success close to our chest. Much like the Vikings created their own infrastructure webs and ecosystems, modern society has another kind of ecosystem, where companies, institutions, government, and people know they need each other to survive. \u201cThis has transcended our culture for millennia,\u201d Ihre notes.<\/p>\n<p>But this doesn\u2019t mean that Sweden\u2019s business sector is closed within itself.
