Instead, it focuses on improving the patient&#8217;s quality of life for whatever time they remain by providing spiritual, physical, and emotional support. Given this, it\u2019s crucial to have Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in hospice care facilities to ensure comfort and safety. Luckily for you, this blog will give better solutions\u2014making them more sustainable. And it can be detrimental to their health if temperatures are either too high or too low. It is called passive solar technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Passive solar technology uses the roofs, walls, windows, and floors of a building to capture and collect the sun&#8217;s energy. It then converts those to thermal energy, which the building stores as heat energy. So, whenever the temperature of the hospice care facility drops, you can use the stored energy to warm the room. On the other hand, use a solar air conditioning system when the climate is too warm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Geothermal_Energy\"><\/span><a><\/a>Geothermal Energy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another sustainable solution is the use of geothermal energy. You&#8217;ll use an above-ground heat pump with a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of buried pipes or ground loops to either warm or cool the hospice care facility. It works in two ways: heating and cooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the heating mode, the fluid absorbs the heat from the Earth and then carries it to your HVAC system to warm the building. Once the fluid transfers its heat, it gets recirculated back to the ground loops to be heated again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, it works the other way around in the cooling mode. The heat pump uses its heat exchanger to absorb the heat from the air inside the facility. Then, pump the heated fluid through a series of ground loops and discharge the heat to the surrounding soil or groundwater. Once the water cools, it then returns to the building to absorb heat again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wind_Energy\"><\/span><a><\/a>Wind Energy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the facility is built in a windy area that makes about an annual wind speed of at least 9 miles per hour or 4 meters per second, it would be best to utilize wind energy. Of course, we&#8217;re not talking about giant wind farms or turbines. Instead, a small wind energy system, also known as a grid-connected system, that you can connect to an electricity distribution system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While it doesn&#8217;t produce as much power as the large ones, this sustainable technology can still power your HVAC system. And this can reduce the emissions from burning fossil fuels for electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Smart_Thermostats\"><\/span><a><\/a>Smart Thermostats<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/10-smart-thermostat-features-you-should-be-using\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Smart thermostats have many features<\/a> that can help you make your hospice care facility sustainable. And there&#8217;s no doubt about that due to its unique way of functioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DEVap combines an evaporative cooler with liquid desiccant to cool a room. If you&#8217;re not familiar, a desiccant is the drying chemical found in packets marked &#8220;DO NOT EAT.&#8221; But what DEVap uses is the syrupy liquid of its kind with a high affinity to water vapor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DEVap works by desiccant material absorbing moisture from the air. The air is then cooled using an evaporative cooling system, which works by passing the air over a wet pad.
