{"id":570118,"date":"2023-04-14T00:30:53","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T21:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/white-house-blasts-extreme-and-dangerous-florida-abortion-bill\/"},"modified":"2023-04-14T00:30:53","modified_gmt":"2023-04-13T21:30:53","slug":"white-house-blasts-extreme-and-dangerous-florida-abortion-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/white-house-blasts-extreme-and-dangerous-florida-abortion-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"#White House blasts \u2018extreme and dangerous\u2019 Florida abortion bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/04\/KJP040623_AP.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The White House on Thursday condemned Florida lawmakers for passing a law to outlaw abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, warning of broader consequences for women across the southern U.S.<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement that the \u201cextreme and dangerous\u201d bill \u201cflies in the face of fundamental freedoms and is out of step with the views of the vast majority of the people of Florida and of all the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cThis ban would prevent four million Florida women of reproductive age from accessing abortion care after six weeks \u2014 before many women even know they\u2019re pregnant,\u201d Jean-Pierre said. \u201cThis ban would also impact the nearly 15 million women of reproductive age who live in abortion-banning states throughout the South, many of whom have previously relied on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> to Florida as an option to access care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Americans have made clear they don\u2019t want the government weighing in on reproductive rights, Jean-Pierre argued, pointing to a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of state ballot measures to protect abortion access that have passed in the 10 months since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite this, Republican elected officials continue their work to dismantle our fundamental freedoms, including through attempts to ban abortion nationwide,\u201d Jean-Pierre said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden and his Administration stand with women and physicians\u2014and we will continue to fight to protect access to abortion and defend reproductive rights,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is expected to enter the 2024 presidential race in the coming weeks,\u00a0signed into law\u00a0a 15-week abortion ban last year, but he has said that he would support more restrictive measures and is expected to sign the latest piece of legislation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s signature would put Florida among at least a dozen other states that have <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roved six-week abortion bans.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The restrictive bill in Florida is the latest blow to abortion-rights advocates, the White House and Democratic lawmakers. <\/p>\n<p>A federal judge last week invalidated the Food and Drug Administration\u2019s approval of the abortion pill mifepristone.
