Limited time offer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juice will make the 6.6 billion km <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> to study three of Jupiter\u2019s 92 known moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa. Each of these worlds has an ocean of water hidden underneath an icy shell \u2014 an important target for astronomers searching for life beyond Earth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the two weeks after launch, the satellite will deploy all of its antennas and instrument booms. This will be followed by a three-month long period where all of the spacecraft\u2019s scientific instruments will be commissioned.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will take even longer for its first fly-by, which is only set for August 2024. At that time, it will fly by the Moon and then Earth about one and a half days later. The satellite will take advantage of the Earth-Moon gravitational field to sling itself on course for Jupiter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juice is set to arrive at Jupiter in July 2031. By doing so, Juice will become the first satellite ever to orbit around a moon other than Earth\u2019s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But it won\u2019t be alone out there. NASA is also launching a Jupiter-bound spacecraft, the<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/europa.nasa.gov\/spacecraft\/meet-europa-clipper\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Europa clipper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in 2024, that will orbit Europa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Norbert Krupp, an interdisciplinary scientist at the Juice programme, says the presence of NASA\u2019s satellite is perfect timing and \u201callows for a two-point comparison of data\u201d that will improve the overall impact of the mission.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juice is equipped with 10 instruments that aim to give scientists a look not just at the surface of Jupiter and its icy moons, but what lies beneath. The hope is that this will allow for the creation of computer-generated, three dimensional images of its interior.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The satellite will use radar to look into the moons, lidar to create 3D maps of their surfaces, and magnetometers to explore their intricate electrical and magnetic environments. This controlled destruction will prevent Juice from turning into a piece of space junk that could collide with future missions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u20ac1.6 billion launch of Juice comes after a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of setbacks for Europe\u2019s launches, the most notable of which was the launch<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/news\/2022-12-vega-c-rocket-lost-shortly-lift-off.html\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">failure<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Vega-C in December 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, on a more positive note, new<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">research<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shows that Europe overtook the US in spacetech investment in the first quarter of this year, making it the world\u2019s biggest market for private spacetech funding.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The hope is that this funding will boost Europe\u2019s domestic space capabilities, and offer startups the propulsion they need to scaleup.\u00a0 <\/span>\n                        <\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
