Matthew Perry<\/strong> plans to make some big changes to his memoir moving forward!<\/p>\n

For those who don\u2019t recall, the 53-year-old actor came under fire shortly after the release of his book Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing<\/em> last year. Why is that? He made some brutal remarks about Keanu Reeves<\/strong>, questioning several times why he \u201cstill walks among us\u201d when \u201creally talented guys\u201d and \u201coriginal thinkers like\u201d River Phoenix<\/strong>, Chris Farley<\/strong>, and Heath Ledger<\/strong> had passed away. It was very harsh!<\/p>\n

Considering Matthew did not explain in the memoir why The Matrix<\/em> star was called out, many believed that these two stars had unknown beef with each other. However, that was not the case! Following the backlash, Matthew released an apologetic statement to People<\/em> and claimed he choose \u201ca random name\u201d when writing the book:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m actually a big fan of Keanu. I just chose a random name, my mistake. I apologize. I should have used my own name instead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hmm. There\u2019s no bad blood? Really? It is hard to believe he had pulled the name of someone well-known like Keanu to jokingly wish the Speed<\/em> star would kick the bucket \u2014 and there ends up being nothing more to the story than a simple \u201cmistake.\u201d<\/p>\n

But months after the controversy, Matthew is taking it a step further than an apology. At the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books<\/strong> on Saturday, the Friends<\/em> alum revealed he plans on omitting Keanu\u2019s name from all future editions of the memoir:<\/p>\n

\u201cI said a stupid thing. It was a mean thing to do. I pulled his name because I live on the same street. I\u2019ve apologized publicly to him. Any future versions of the book will not have his name in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Matthew then noted he has not been able to apologize to the 58-year-old personally yet, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I run into the guy, I\u2019ll apologize. It was just stupid.\u201d<\/p>\n

For his part, Keanu never addressed the controversy publicly. But an Us Weekly<\/em> source said the John Wick<\/em> actor was blindsided by the comments at the time:<\/p>\n

\u201cKeanu thought the comments came out of left field. It\u2019s kind of backfired on Matthew anyway, which is why he had to apologize.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
