promises to make whoever gets it more famous and powerful, and the network is buzzing a week after Carlson\u2019s surprise exit over who might get the position.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Here are some of the names most likely to be in the conversation.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jesse_Watters\"><\/span><strong>Jesse to replace Carlson at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Watters, a star who has risen through the network\u2019s ranks over the past several years, hosts a show in the hour preceding Carlson and is a leading panelist of the network\u2019s top-rated debate show \u201cThe Five.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A sharp-tongued conservative who, like Carlson, has proven willing to attack Republicans and Democrats, Watters would be a consistent successor to the former Fox star, providing an audience with tested populist takes and quirky nonpolitical segments.<\/p>\n<p>The only downside to putting Watters at 8 p.m., from Fox\u2019s point of view, might be how to replace him at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>That hour was previously home to a straight news program anchored by Martha MacCallum and could serve as the launchpad for the next prime-time hopeful at Fox.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Brian_Kilmeade\"><\/span><strong>Brian filling in for Carlson on the night he was ousted from the network and the days im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely following his shocking departure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you probably have heard, Fox News and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. I wish Tucker the best. Ron DeSantis (R), who is widely expected to challenge Trump for next year\u2019s Republican presidential nomination.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr7_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>If Murdoch were to tap Morgan, who he recently referred to as a broadcaster \u201cevery channel wants but is too afraid to hire,\u201d as a replacement for Carlson, it would be seen as a further escalation of tensions between the former president and the billionaire media magnate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar Media Inc.
