Trump also went after E. Jean Carroll one day after he was found liable in a civil case of sexually abusing and defaming her. He also raised eyebrows when he declined to call Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Here are five notable moments from Trump\u2019s CNN town hall:<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trump_calls_E_Jean_Carroll_a_%E2%80%98whack_job\"><\/span><strong>Trump calls E. Jean Carroll a \u2018whack job\u2019<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The town hall took place one day after a jury found Trump liable of sexual abuse and defamation against Carroll for her allegation that he raped her in a department store dressing room in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>But Trump was dismissive of the findings, as well as any suggestion that it would hurt him in the polls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a fake story. Made-up story,\u201d Trump said, later adding, \u201cI have no idea who the hell she is. She\u2019s a whack job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He recounted his version of events, which frequently elicited laughter from the town hall attendees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind of a woman meets somebody and brings them up and within minutes you\u2019re playing hanky panky in a dressing room,\u201d Trump said to laughter.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Asked if he thinks the jury\u2019s findings will deter women from voting for him, Trump said: \u201cNo I don\u2019t think so.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trump_labels_Kaitlan_Collins_a_%E2%80%98nasty_person\"><\/span><strong>Trump labels Kaitlan Collins a \u2018nasty person\u2019<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the most talked-about moments of the evening was when the former president snapped at Collins.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange came as the CNN moderator repeatedly pressed Trump on his handling of classified documents.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cCan I talk? Can I answer the question?\u201d Trump asked during the back-and-forth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want you to answer the question, that\u2019s why I asked it,\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re a nasty person,\u201d Trump responded to applause from the audience.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Trump talked over Collins throughout the course of the town hall but praised her at the start and end of the forum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know you very well,\u201d Trump told Collins toward the start of the event, adding \u201cyou\u2019re not stupid.\u201d Trump then said \u201cmaybe you\u2019ve been given an agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tensions between Trump and Collins date back to his time in the White House. During one press briefing in 2020, Trump officials sought to have Collins moved to the back of the room. In another briefing, then-press secretary Kayleigh McEnany derided Collins as an \u201cactivist.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr5_ab\"><\/aside>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trump_touts_overturning_of_Roe_v_Wade\"><\/span><strong>Trump <\/strong>touts overturning of Roe v. Wade<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Trump heralded the overturning of Roe v. Wade as a \u201cgreat victory\u201d while repeatedly avoiding to directly say whether he would back a federal law banning abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said in response to a question from Collins about whether he would sign a federal abortion ban that \u201cwhat I would do is negotiate so people are happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to do what\u2019s right,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr6_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Trump said he supports certain exceptions to abortion restrictions including in cases of rape, incest and to protect the life of the mother, but added that \u201ca lot of people are against that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he is \u201clooking at a solution that\u2019s going to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump also emphasized his own role in the court\u2019s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization, which overturned Roe, as he appointed three conservative justices who joined in the majority opinion. He noted that Republicans had been trying to overturn Roe for half a century before it was overturned last year.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr7_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201c\u201cThe fact I was able to terminate Roe v. Wade after 50 years of trying. They worked for 50 years \u2014 I\u2019ve never seen anything like it. They worked, and I was even, I was so honored to have done it. We are in a very good negotiating position right now only because of what I was able to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Collins_presses_Trump_on_2020_fraud_claims\"><\/span><strong>Collins presses Trump on 2020 fraud claims<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Going into Wednesday\u2019s event, all eyes were on Collins and whether she would be able to fact-check Trump, who throughout his presidency told thousands of falsehoods, according to fact-checkers.<\/p>\n<p>Almost im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely after the two sat down, Collins pushed Trump on his claims that the 2020 election was false and asked whether he would accept that the election was fair. Instead, Trump doubled down on his previous assertions.<\/p>\n<p>The former president throughout the evening repeatedly called the 2020 election fraudulent or rigged, claiming there were scores of improper ballots in major cities like Detroit, Atlanta and Philadelphia. He also defended his phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which he asked Raffensperger to find enough votes to flip the state in Trump\u2019s favor.<\/p>\n<p>Collins interjected repeatedly, noting at various points that there was no evidence of fraud in Wisconsin, that numerous lawsuits alleging fraud were dismissed and that former Trump administration officials have testified that there was no widespread fraud and that they told Trump as much.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, when Trump again claimed the election was rigged during an answer on immigration, Collins chimed in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe election was not rigged, Mr. President. You can\u2019t keep saying that all night long,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Before signing off, Collins asked Trump if he would accept the results of the 2024 election if he is the nominee and loses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah. If I think it\u2019s an honest election,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trump_declines_to_call_Putin_a_war_criminal\"><\/span><strong>Trump declines to call Putin a war criminal<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Trump did not say if he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is a war criminal when talking about Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s something that should not be discussed now, it should be discussed later,\u201d Trump said, suggesting that calling Putin a war criminal would reduce the chances of Russia agreeing to end the war.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you say he\u2019s a war criminal it\u2019s going to be a lot tougher to make a deal to make this thing stopped,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIf he\u2019s going to be a war criminal, people are going to grab him and execute him, he\u2019s going to fight a lot harder than he\u2019s fighting under the other circumstance. That\u2019s something to be discussed at a later day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration in March announced it had determined that Russian forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine, citing attacks that indiscriminately targeted civilians.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said that he believed Putin made a mistake going into Ukraine in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe would have never gone in if I was president,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump did not say whether he wanted Russia or Ukraine to win the war when pressed by Collins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think in terms of winning and losing.
