{"id":575272,"date":"2023-05-20T04:13:34","date_gmt":"2023-05-20T01:13:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/national-security-adviser-biden-has-expressed-confidence-at-g7-that-us-wont-default\/"},"modified":"2023-05-20T04:13:34","modified_gmt":"2023-05-20T01:13:34","slug":"national-security-adviser-biden-has-expressed-confidence-at-g7-that-us-wont-default","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/national-security-adviser-biden-has-expressed-confidence-at-g7-that-us-wont-default\/","title":{"rendered":"#National security adviser: Biden \u2018has expressed confidence\u2019 at G7 that US won\u2019t default"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/AP23114637734662-e1684545000555.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>National security adviser Jake Sullivan said that while the debt limit talks have been a subject of interest at the Group of Seven (G-7) summit, President Biden has \u201cexpressed confidence\u201d to world leaders in avoiding a default.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is definitely a subject of interest,\u201d Sullivan told reporters during a\u00a0Saturday morning\u00a0press conference in Japan. \u201cHere at the G-7, you know, countries want to have a sense of how these negotiations are going to play out and the president has expressed confidence that he believes that we could drive to an outcome that we do avoid default.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>He noted that Biden is returning to Washington on Sunday, which was announced earlier this week, to resume talks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not generating alarm or a kind of vibration in the room,\u201d Sullivan added. \u201cCountries are keenly interested in what is a significant story and the president has been able to tell them he believes we can get to a good result here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden has warned recently\u00a0that it could be a concern internationally if the U.S. were to default on its debt, arguing ahead of the G-7 that world leaders have been wondering about the looming risk.<\/p>\n<p>The White House officials leading talks while Biden is overseas and Republican negotiators\u00a0\u00a0resumed conversations\u00a0on Friday evening\u00a0after frustrated GOP\u00a0negotiators hit pause\u00a0for much of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.\u00a0Garret Graves\u00a0(R-La.), the lead GOP negotiator, said the group had a \u201ccandid discussion\u201d after a roughly hour and a half meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday, Republicans left a meeting with White House officials, saying the two sides were too far apart and that the White House is being unreasonable.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki earlier on Friday said \u201call of these world leaders and their teams are watching what\u2019s h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening in the United States\u201d in terms of the debt limit, adding that China is \u201crooting for a default.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines said Beijing and Moscow would use a potential default for propaganda purposes through \u201cinformation operations\u201d as evidence the U.S. political system is chaotic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> Inc.
