(REUTERS\/Jonathan Ernst)<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As negotiators seek to avoid a default that could shake markets and send the economy into a recession<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/yellen-us-could-default-on-debt-as-soon-as-june-1-150011372.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:within days;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\"> within days<\/a>, the talks are stuck in an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent breakdown. (Tom Williams\/CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The White House has shot back in recent days that Republicans are refusing to negotiate enough <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/house-republicans-pass-their-debt-ceiling-proposal-heres-whats-in-it-215855423.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:from their initial debt ceiling proposal;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">from their initial debt ceiling proposal<\/a>, which passed the House but was dead on arrival in the Democratic-controlled Senate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden will not accept a wish list of extreme MAGA priorities,\u201d said White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt.<\/p>\n<p>Biden and his team also continue to pitch raising revenue by closing certain tax loopholes &#8211; especially provisions around the fossil fuel and cryptocurrency sectors &#8211; even as Republicans flatly reject the ideas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of things that they refuse to entertain and they just said revenue is off the table.
