\n One local industry is booming: moving companies, because so many New Yorkers are fleeing the city for the \u2019burbs in the wake of the pandemic, the spike in violent crime and the general<\/a> rise in disorder. And Mayor Bill de Blasio\u2019s answer is to cheer.<\/p>\n

Perry Chance of Show Up movers told The Post his \u201cvolume has increased by at least 70 percent\u201d in the past few months. \u201c[People] say the rich are leaving New York. Well, they are!\u201d<\/p>\n

July saw a 44 percent rise in home sales in area suburbs \u2014 with an astounding 112 percent hike in Westchester County \u2014 over the same month last year, reports Miller Samuel Real Estate App<\/a>raisers & Consultants. Manhattan property sales sunk 56 percent.<\/p>\n

Jersey and Connecticut \u2019burbs are seeing the same. Heck, brokers all the way out in North Fork say business is booming \u2014 because more and more workers figure a long commute is no longer an issue, as they\u2019ll work from home most of the time.<\/p>\n

The exodus will tank city revenues, but de Blasio\u2019s stuck on his old, old tune: \u201cHelp me tax the wealthy. Help me redistribute wealth,\u201d he told WNYC\u2019s Brian Lehrer last week.<\/p>\n

So much for his promises to be the mayor for all New Yorkers: He\u2019d rather drive the city down than face reality.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
