Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is \u201cdead man walking\u201d in West Virginia, where the senior senator finds himself far behind in the polls ahead of the 2024 election. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Axelrod on Monday said that may push Manchin into running for president as a third-party candidate, which the senior Democratic strategist called \u201ca graceful exit for him.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to be unkind to Sen. Manchin but he\u2019s kind of dead man walking in West Virginia. There\u2019s nowhere for him to go,\u201d Axelrod said on CNN Monday, referring to a new poll showing the three-term senator trailing West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) by 22 points.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s nowhere for him to go. He\u2019s got a popular Republican governor in the state that Donald Trump carried by almost 40 points. He didn\u2019t win by very much last time. So he knows that he can\u2019t win reelection in that state,\u201d he said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An East Carolina University poll of 957 registered West Virginia voters conducted May 22 and May 23 found Justice leading Manchin 54 percent to 32 percent in a hypothetical matchup, with 13 percent of voters undecided. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The poll, however, showed Manchin trailing Rep. Alex Mooney (W.Va.), another Republican candidate in the Senate race, by only 1 point \u2014 41 percent to 40 percent with 18 percent undecided. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Manchin says he won\u2019t decide whether to run for reelection until the end of this year and he isn\u2019t ruling out a potential presidential bid. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Asked over the weekend whether a presidential bid is still possible, Manchin said, \u201cYou better have Plan B because if Plan A shows we\u2019re going to the far reaches of both sides, the far left and the far right\u2026\u201d referring to the unpopularity of President Biden and former President Trump, the leading Republican candidate for president. \u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Manchin declined to \u201cinclude or exclude\u201d himself as a possible third-party candidate. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He beat Republican candidate Patrick Morrisey in the 2018 Senate race, 49.6 percent to 46.3 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trump carried West Virginia by 42 points over Hillary Clinton in 2016 and then beat Biden in the state in 2020, 68.6 percent to 29.7 percent<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Manchin declared last month \u201cI will win any race I enter\u201d and said he is \u201claser focused on doing the job West Virginians elected me to do.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He has suggested that while Justice, a former Democrat, is popular in West Virginia, he may have a hard time winning the Senate Republican nomination over Mooney.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s begin.
