\n Jas Waters, a writer on \u201cThis Is Us\u201d and \u201cKidding,\u201d has reportedly passed away at age 39.<\/p>\n

While the cause of death has not yet been revealed, friends and coworkers began sharing tributes to Jas, aka JasFly, who was also an alum of the VH1 reality series<\/a> \u201cGossip Game<\/a>,\u201d on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

At the time of her death, she was working as a story editor and writer for Showtime\u2019s half-hour dramedy \u201cKidding,\u201d starring Jim Carrey and Judy Greer.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining the team, she was a staff writer on NBC\u2019s popular family drama \u201cThis Is Us\u201d from 2017 to 2018.<\/p>\n

Her \u201cdevastated\u201d former NBC co-writers confirmed the sad news<\/a> with a collective statement about her passing on social media<\/a>, writing: \u201cIn our time together, Jas left her mark on us and ALL over the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a brilliant storyteller and a force of nature. We send our deepest sympathies to her loved ones. She was one of us. RIP @JasFly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Showrunner Dan Fogelman added: \u201cThis news took my breath away. Jas was absolutely brilliant and had so many stories still to tell.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe made an indelible mark on our show and my heart breaks for her loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jas helped develop the story idea for Taraji P. Henson\u2019s \u201cWhat Women Want\u201d revamp, \u201cWhat Men Want,\u201d along with the film\u2019s co-writer Tina Gordon.<\/p>\n

In 2017, she was also a staff writer on Comedy Central\u2019s sketch comedy \u201cHood Adjacent\u201d and on VH1\u2019s hourlong drama \u201cThe Breaks.\u201d<\/p>\n

She co-authored \u201cThe Art & Science<\/a> of Respect,\u201d a memoir for Rap-A-Lot Records owner James Prince.<\/p>\n

Jas also contributed to a novel by motivational speaker Rob Hill Sr called \u201cThe Missing Piece: Finding The Better Part Of Me: A Love Journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before becoming a VH1 reality star or a writer-director-producer, Jas created her own entertainment blog titled FlyStyleLife in 2007, which eventually led to her landing her own VIBE Magazine column.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
