All-time record high temperatures were set or tied in Texas cities such as Del Rio (115 degrees), Laredo (115 degrees) and San Angelo (114 degrees). The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/ama\/heatindex#:~:text=The%20heat%20index%2C%20also%20known,sweat%20to%20cool%20itself%20off.\">heat index<\/a>, which is how hot it feels to the human body when humidity is factored in, reached an unofficial record of 125 degrees in Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n<p>The Tuesday death of a postal worker in Dallas, where the heat index reached 115 degrees, was blamed on the extreme heat.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">Deadly heat: <\/strong>Texas postal worker collapses, dies amid extreme heat index over 110<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Climate_change_made_the_heat_wave_five_times_more_likely_study_says\"><\/span>Climate change made the heat wave five times more likely, study says<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>An analysis of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.climatecentral.org\/climate-shift-index-alert\">data from Climate Central<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> communication group in Princeton, N.J., said that climate change is making the heat wave at least five times more likely.<\/p>\n<partner-banner util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" fluid=\"\" bottom=\"\" lazy=\"\" class=\"spacer-large\" min-height=\"390\" outstream=\"\"><\/partner-banner><partner-inline util-module-path=\"elements\/partner\" class=\"spacer-large\" placement=\"native-article_link\" sizes=\"[[300, 250], [3, 3]]\" min-height=\"250\" fluid=\"\" outstream=\"\"><\/partner-inline>\n<p>&#8220;Human caused climate change made the extreme and extremely unusual temperatures in Mexico and the southern U.S. much more likely.
