He added that they discussed the \u201cfurther expansion of defense cooperation,\u201d especially about long-range weapons. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe discussed the course of hostilities and the processes taking place in Russia. The world must put pressure on Russia until international order is restored,\u201d Zelensky said in a statement on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZelenskyyUa\/status\/1673046653903798277\">Twitter<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Zelensky said he thanked Biden for \u201cthe support of the fighter jet coalition,\u201d noting that it\u2019s essential to increase Ukraine\u2019s capabilities to \u201cprotect\u201d their skies. <\/p>\n<p>Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner Group chief, launched an\u00a0armed rebellion\u00a0to oust Russia\u2019s defense minister on Friday,\u00a0alleging that\u00a0Sergei Shoigu ordered a strike on Wagner\u2019s field camps in Ukraine. The rebellion was short-lived, Prigozhin ordered his forces to\u00a0stop\u00a0their advance on Moscow over the weekend and reportedly reached a deal with the Kremlin,\u00a0agreeing to move to Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>The White House said in a statement that Biden and Zelensky discussed support as Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russia. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey discussed Ukraine\u2019s ongoing counter-offensive, and President Biden reaffirmed unwavering U.S. support, including through continued security, economic, and humanitarian aid,\u201d the White House said in a statement. \u201cThe leaders also discussed recent events in Russia.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar Media Inc.
