Now, though, it\u2019s looking like that Samsung-only chip might not stay Samsung-only for long.<\/p>\n<p>Nubia, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that also owns the gaming smartphone brand Redmagic, has released a teaser confirming that its next phone, the Redmagic 8S Pro, would come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 \u201cLeading Version.\u201d This has the same exact clock speed as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, the chip that powers the Galaxy S23 range of smartphones, so it\u2019s safe to assume that it\u2019s the exact same silicon.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-901772\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Nubia-Redmagic-Snapdragon-Le.jpg?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"920\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"imagecredit\">Nubia \/ Weibo<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We don\u2019t know if \u201cLeading Version\u201d will be the branding that Qualcomm will use for this chip in other markets \u2014 this is a teaser for a phone aimed at the Chinese market, after all. It might just be launched as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2.
