\n Joe Judge has a response to his many critics: I\u2019m being me. This is not an act.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not running a rigid training camp because he\u2019s trying to be Bill Belichick. He\u2019s not making players and coaches run laps after mistakes because it\u2019s something he saw Belichick do. He didn\u2019t remove names from the back of players\u2019 jerseys because of Belichick.<\/p>\n

This is how he wants to run a team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m doing everything in my own personality. I am not trying to imitate or emulate anybody,\u201d Judge, the first-year Giants\u2019 coach, said during a Tuesday app<\/a>earance on ESPN Radio. \u201cIt\u2019s got to be genuine and it\u2019s got to be sincere. You know how it is \u2014 if you lie to the players you\u2019re going to lose them forever because they\u2019ll see right through that.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m me and I think our players have a pretty good feel for who I am. I\u2019m pretty straightforward with those guys. I don\u2019t have a lot of time to mix fluff and try to make everything all sunshine and rainbows. I think that it\u2019s my responsibility to tell them the straight truth so they can work on improving what they have to and we can get better as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n
