\n The Twitter account of the late Herman Cain \u2014 who died recently after being hospitalized with the coronavirus \u2014 declared Sunday that the bug is \u201cnot as deadly as the mainstream media made it out to be,\u201d according to a report.<\/p>\n

The Sunday post on Cain\u2019s Twitter account, which is supervised by the former Republican presidential candidate\u2019s family and friends, was later deleted, but various media outlets posted screen grabs, The Hill reported.<\/p>\n

The deleted tweet included a link to a story published by The Western Journal reporting that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that 94 percent of cases of people who died from the illness had underlying conditions.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the conservative businessman\u2019s account tweeted a link to a post on the Herman Cain website, written by its editor, who claimed that the \u201csecond wave\u201d of the virus \u201chasn\u2019t come close to the original spike, and it isn\u2019t showing signs it will.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe summer \u2018second wave\u2019 (if that\u2019s what it was) never got near the severity of the initial wave, and it already seems to be mostly on the wane,\u201d Dan Calabrese wrote.<\/p>\n

Health experts have said that the first wave of the outbreak is still ongoing, The Hill noted.<\/p>\n

Cain, the former CEO of Godfather\u2019s Pizza, tested positive for COVID-19 after he attended President Trump\u2019s rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 20. He was photographed in the stands without a mask.<\/p>\n
