Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) from its ranks, according to Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.), a caucus board member.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA vote was taken to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus for some of the things she\u2019s done,\u201d Harris <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/minutes\/congress\/07-6-2023\/mtg-freedom-caucus-ouster\/\">told\u00a0Politico<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/haleytalbotcnn\/status\/1677006693194948618\">CNN on Thursday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>A spokesperson for the House Freedom Caucus (HFC) would not confirm whether the group voted to remove Greene, pointing to its policy of confidentiality. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHFC does not comment on membership or internal process,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n<p>Greene\u2019s office also did not respond to an inquiry on her membership status.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Top_stories_from_The_Hill\"><\/span>Top stories from The Hill<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">Greene\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent removal from the group comes after she broke with many of her colleagues on\u00a0supporting the debt bill\u00a0deal Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) struck with President Biden. She has become a close ally of McCarthy, supporting him for Speaker even as opposition from many of her Freedom Caucus colleagues forced a historic 15-ballot election in January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think all of that mattered,\u201d Harris said, referring to the debt bill and Greene\u2019s support for McCarthy.<\/p>\n<p>But it was Greene\u2019s latest clash with fellow firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) that appears to have pushed members to vote to remove her, with Harris calling it \u201cthe straw that broke the camel\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<aside class=\"promo-link\">\n        The Hill Elections 2024 coverage<br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Greene\u00a0called Boebert a \u201clittle bitch\u201d\u00a0on the House floor in late June \u2014 and publicly confirmed doing so \u2014 after Boebert made a surprise move to force action on her articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Greene criticized Boebert for not coming to explain her decision to the House GOP conference and accused Boebert of copying her articles of impeachment against Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the way she referred to a fellow member was probably not the way we expect our members to refer to their fellow, especially female, members,\u201d Harris said.<\/p>\n<p>The vote, first reported by Politico last week, took place the morning before the House left for a two-week recess ahead of Independence Day.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Harris would not say how he voted but praised House Freedom Caucus Chairman Scott Perry (R-Pa.) as being a \u201ctrue leader\u201d and doing a \u201cgreat job.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apple.news\/T7zM9N_S2SDKHQ2PypEf8AQ?subscribe=1\">Sign up for the latest from The Hill here<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>But the move to oust Greene is drawing some outside criticism of Perry and the caucus as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I\u2019m Scott Perry, this is the last thing I want making headlines leading into three weeks of session before the August recess,\u201d a senior Republican aide told The Hill. \u201cAll of the continuous drama surrounding HFC has put their members at odds of getting any agenda items passed. It has to be tiring for leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The most pressing battle between members of the House Freedom Caucus and House GOP leadership is over appropriations and spending levels. Last month, a portion of members from the group and their allies blocked legislative activity on the House floor for a week in protest of topline spending levels set in the debt limit bill.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the group have regularly met with leadership about spending levels in the weeks since, but they left for the two-week break with disagreements remaining.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the spending levels, members of the Freedom Caucus caused more headaches for leadership with privileged motions to force action on their measures. In addition to Boebert\u2019s move to force action on Mayorkas impeachment articles, which were ultimately referred back to committees, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) forced action on a resolution to\u00a0censure\u00a0Rep.
