One fan responded, asking for a status update on the highly-anticipated sequel to <em>Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWas told it would follow\u00a0<em>Avengers<\/em>,\u201d Liu, who starred in the lead role in the 2021 Marvel film, said.\u00a0\u201cBut that keeps pushing back due to circumstances beyond my control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Although he didn\u2019t give details on what those \u201ccircumstances\u201d are, Disney has recently made changes to its release calendar, including pushing back <em>Avengers: Secret Wars<\/em> to May 7, 2027. <em>Avengers: The Kang Dynasty<\/em>, which has\u00a0embattled Jonathan Majors attached to the lead role, has also been pushed a year to May 1, 2026. Majors is currently facing assault charges in New York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Several other Marvel projects have also been delayed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, including<em> Thunderbolts<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Blade<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Liu added in his post that he hopes \u201cto have more concrete <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> to share soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    In December 2021, it was revealed that Destin Daniel Cretton would be returning to write and direct <em>Shang-Chi 2<\/em>, as well as signing an overall deal with Marvel amid the first film\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    \u201cWorking on\u00a0<em>Shang-Chi<\/em>\u00a0with Kevin [Feige] and the Marvel Studios team was one of the highlights of my life, and I couldn\u2019t be more excited about Tara\u2019s vision for Onyx Collective,\u201d Cretton said at the time the sequel was announced. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to explore new stories &amp; build new worlds with this community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    <em>Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings<\/em>, which was the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature an Asian lead and predominantly Asian cast, went on to gross $432 million worldwide once it hit theaters in September 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    While Liu has taken on other projects since making his MCU debut, including starring in Greta Gerwig\u2019s upcoming <em>Barbie<\/em> film, the actor teased earlier this year that fans could soon see his Marvel character interacting with other major superheroes in another film. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n    Although he didn\u2019t reveal which movie, he added, \u201cWho knows, they might see something sooner than you think.
