{"id":584225,"date":"2023-07-24T22:25:34","date_gmt":"2023-07-24T19:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/former-nypd-commissioner-turning-over-documents-to-georgia-election-workers-suing-giuliani\/"},"modified":"2023-07-24T22:25:34","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T19:25:34","slug":"former-nypd-commissioner-turning-over-documents-to-georgia-election-workers-suing-giuliani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/former-nypd-commissioner-turning-over-documents-to-georgia-election-workers-suing-giuliani\/","title":{"rendered":"#Former NYPD commissioner turning over documents to Georgia election workers suing Giuliani"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/06\/649babd883f9c6.44991419.jpeg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A former New York Police Department (NYPD) commissioner who helped the Trump campaign investigate false claims of election fraud in 2020 will turn over documents to two Georgia election workers suing former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani for defamation.<\/p>\n<p>Bernard Kerik turned over the records to counsel representing Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, Fulton County poll workers during the 2020 election who sued Giuliani in December 2021 for falsely claiming they played a role in fixing the election. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Kerik has also turned over his records to the special counsel investigating former President Trump\u2019s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>He had claimed Trump and his 2020 election campaign held privilege over documents he was withholding from the election workers\u2019 attorneys. But at the former NYPD commissioner\u2019s request, the Trump campaign withdrew its assertions of work product privilege on a number of documents, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.dcd.238720\/gov.uscourts.dcd.238720.83.0.pdf\">according to a new court filing<\/a>. The Trump campaign is still asserting attorney-client privilege over some emails, the filing says. <\/p>\n<p>Kerik agreed to sit for another deposition before Aug. 25 that will address the new documents and topics objected to in his first deposition, according to the filing. <\/p>\n<p>He also agreed to defer any objections over the documents to attorneys for the campaign. His team won\u2019t object on the basis of privilege or refuse to answer any questions from the election workers\u2019 attorneys.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe parties believe at this time that Mr. Kerik\u2019s production may resolve most of the remaining issues before this Court,\u201d the filing reads. <\/p>\n<p>Giuliani played a central role in Trump\u2019s push to undermine the 2020 election results.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Freeman and Moss, a mother-daughter duo who testified before the House\u2019s Jan. 6 committee last summer, have faced backlash in the years since.\u00a0Investigations\u00a0involving three law enforcement agencies\u00a0\u2014 Georgia\u2019s Secretary of State\u2019s office and special agents with the FBI and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation \u2014 found that allegations against the poll workers \u201cwere false and unsubstantiated.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the election workers claimed Giuliani failed to turn over evidence despite \u201crepeated reminders\u201d from the court and urged the court to impose \u201csevere\u201d sanctions on him. <\/p>\n<p>Ted Goodman, a political adviser to Giuliani, told The Hill at the time the request is part of a \u201clarger effort to smear and silence Mayor Giuliani for daring to ask questions, and for challenging the accepted narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The D.C.
