They believe \u201conly the restoration of the true god \u2014 the establishment and its expertise \u2014 can reimpose order.\u201d But a Joe Biden win \u201cwill not solve any of the problems that led to Trump\u2019s election in the first place.\u201d Indeed, \u201cthe ruling class will be more complacent and alienated than ever,\u201d and \u201cpost-Trump America will be a country ready for another Trump \u2014 or someone even more terrifying to the elite.\u201d The \u201cfailed elites who made Trump necessary\u201d ignore at their peril that eventually \u201cthere will be a reckoning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Riot desk: The Real Instigators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden charges that President Trump instigated the radical violence sweeping American cities, yet Democrats \u201chave a history of encouraging supporters to be confrontational with counter-protesters and even local law enforcement,\u201d Andrew O\u2019Reilly claps back at Fox<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>.com. In 2018, Rep. Maxine Waters \u201curged people to \u2018absolutely harass\u2019 members of Trump\u2019s staff when they\u2019re spotted in public.\u201d Freshman Rep. Ayanna Pressley likewise \u201ccalled for \u2018unrest in the streets,\u2019\u200a\u201d including over Trump allegedly \u201cdismantling\u201d the postal service. Then there was CNN anchor Chris Cuomo in July: \u201cPlease, show me where it says that protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campaign journal: Joe\u2019s Double-Talk on Fracking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden is upset\u201d with ads \u201cclaiming he wants to ban fracking,\u201d note the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette\u2019s editors. He says they\u2019re untrue. Yet Biden \u201conly has himself to blame\u201d for the confusion. In July, he said he\u2019d \u201cmake sure\u201d fracking is \u201celiminated.\u201d In March, after Bernie Sanders said he\u2019s going to stop fracking, Biden replied: \u201cSo am I.\u201d Yet the industry\u2019s \u201cessential in Pennsylvania,\u201d and, with its 20 electoral votes \u201cup for grabs,\u201d it could prove \u201cpivotal.\u201d President Trump has \u201crepeatedly\u201d visited the area promoting fracking, but Biden\u2019s been \u201ccautious,\u201d perhaps \u201cfearing backlash\u201d from \u201cSanders and other leftists.\u201d The Democratic nominee \u201cneeds to speak out clearly.\u201d Yes, on Monday, he denied he\u2019d ban the industry. He should \u201ckeep repeating it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Media watch: Denounce Lest Ye Be Denounced<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>National Review\u2019s Kevin D. Williamson takes on the bizarre \u201critual denunciation of Andrew Sullivan\u201d by New York Times media columnist Ben Smith: \u201can extraordinary bit of moral reasoning that a cynic might take as an exercise in self-interested journalistic ass-covering.\u201d Smith reports that New York magazine fired Sullivan because, as New Republic editor in 1994, he published excerpts from Charles Murray\u2019s \u201cThe Bell Curve.\u201d The later \u201cshift in culture had effectively made\u201d that decision \u2014 \u201cand the fact that he never disavowed it \u2014 a firing \u00adoffense.\u201d More, New York\u2019s editor acted \u201cbefore the magazine experienced a blowup over race of the sort that [has] erupted at other publications.\u201d And that, says Williamson, is why Smith is denouncing Sullivan. \u201cIf an editorial decision in the 1990s can become a \u2018firing offense\u2019 ex post facto owing to a \u2018shift in culture,\u2019 then .\u2009.\u2009. all those nice progressives who did so much to advance the career of Andrew Sullivan, pariah, are eligible for professional sanction as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the right: The Conservative Debate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The GOP convention \u201cdid not settle a rancorous debate among activists and thinkers about what it means to be conservatives,\u201d observes Samuel Goldman at The New York Times. \u201cFrom the 1960s to the election of \u00adDonald Trump, the American right was largely defined by \u2018fusionism\u2019 \u2014 a complementary mix\u201d of traditionalist morality and individual freedom. Trump\u2019s victory led a \u201cgrowing number of religious conservatives\u201d and \u201ceconomic nationalists\u201d to argue \u201clibertarian influences should be \u00adexpunged\u201d from the party.
