\n Nicolas Cage is sharing his thoughts on his surprise cameo as Superman in Andy Muschietti\u2019s The Flash<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n During an interview with USA Today<\/a><\/em>, published online Thursday, the Oscar-winning actor said it was fulfilling to finally see the character come to life decades after the 1998 film Superman Lives<\/em> was scrapp<\/a>ed.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWell, I was glad I didn\u2019t blink,\u201d he quipped. \u201cFor me, it was the feeling of being actualized. Even that look for that particular character, finally seeing it on screen, was satisfying. But as I said, it\u2019s quick.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n In The Flash<\/em>, Cage appears during a scene when Ezra Miller\u2019s Barry Allen opens the multiverse to see the different universes. That\u2019s when Barry sees Cage as Superman fighting a giant spider as well as Christopher Reeve\u2019s Superman, Helen Slater\u2019s\u00a0Supergirl, Adam West\u2019s Batman and George Reeve\u2019s Superman. <\/p>\n

\n Warner Bros. ended up calling off the infamous 1998 movie just weeks before filming was set to begin, citing creative differences.<\/p>\n

\n For those who still wonder what Cage had in store for his character if the movie was actually completed, he suggested looking at his \u201cperformance in City of Angels<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI was supposed [to play] Clark Kent after that [in Superman Lives<\/em>], and I was already developing this alien otherness playing this angel,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cThat is a perfect example of the tonality you would\u2019ve gotten for Kal-El and for Clark Kent: Clark would\u2019ve been a little more amusing but Kal-El [had] the sensitivity and the goodness and the vulnerability and all those feelings that were kind of angelic and also terrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Last month, filmmaker\u00a0Kevin Smith, who initially penned several draft screenplays for the scrapped Superman Lives<\/em> movie,\u00a0reacted to seeing his vision of Cage as Superman in Muschietti\u2019s film.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI finally got to see Nic Cage be Superman,\u201d Smith told Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cIt has been an absolute delight for me.\u201d He added that it was \u201cmind-melting\u201d after seeing the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
