\n Marc Maron is calling out anyone who is bashing Greta Gerwig\u2019s Barbie <\/em>as being \u201cwoke.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The comedia<\/a>n-actor-podcaster recently took to TikTok<\/a> to share his thoughts on the Margot Robbie-led movie as well as to shut down \u201ccertain men\u201d who \u201ctook offense\u201d to the box office hit. <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI saw\u00a0Barbie<\/em>\u00a0and I thought it was a fucking masterpiece,\u201d he said in a nearly two-minute video. \u201cAnd like, I don\u2019t throw that word around lightly, but, Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He proceeded to share his takeaways from the film, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s like it does a fairly amazing thing to create a sort of broad-based entertainment product that app<\/a>lies to the entire spectrum. I think primarily of women. And then just seep it in progressive politics and basic feminism in a way that\u2019s funny, informative and well-executed in a context that is completely engaging is fucking monumental.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Although he noted that he didn\u2019t know what to expect going into it, Maron added that he\u2019s never seen anything like Barbie<\/em> before, since the movie is \u201cintentionally, thoroughly explaining feminist ideas in a way that\u2019s funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The WTF with Marc Maron<\/em> host also went as far as calling men who are slamming the film \u201cinsecure babies.\u201d His comments come after some conservative pundits have criticized the movie as being too \u201cwoke\u201d with some evening burning their Barbies in protest.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe comedy about men is inspired and the fact that certain men took offense to the point where they, you know, tried to build a grift around it in terms of their narrative as right-wing **** is so embarrassing for them,\u201d he said in response.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI mean, so embarrassing for them,\u201d Maron continued. \u201cAny dude that can\u2019t take those hits in that movie, they\u2019ve really got to look in their pants and decide what they\u2019re made of. I mean, Jesus Christ, what a bunch of fucking insecure babies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The comedian concluded by praising the cast, their performances and the script, saying, \u201cIt made me proud somehow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Last month, Gerwig also responded to the criticism surrounding the record-breaking film. The director said that while she absolutely did not anticipate that type of reaction, there\u2019s \u201ccertainly \u2026 a lot of passion.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cMy hope for the movie is that it\u2019s an invitation for everybody to be part of the party and let go of the things that aren\u2019t necessarily serving us as either women or men,\u201d she told The New York Times<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cI hope that in all of that passion, if they see it or engage with it, it can give them some of the relief that it gave other people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Barbie<\/em> is currently playing in theaters.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
