Actor Jamie Foxx<\/a> is setting the record straight after sharing what many considered to be an antisemitic message on Instagram. On Friday, Foxx posted a black square with the words, \u201cthey killed this dude named Jesus\u2026 What do you think they\u2019ll do to you???!\u201d followed by the hashtags \u201cfake friends\u201d and \u201cfake love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Social media<\/a> users were quick to call out the post for its seemingly antisemitic message. The post has since been deleted.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the They Cloned Tyrone<\/em> star apologized for the post<\/a> to his 16.7 million followers. \u201cI want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I\u2019m sorry. That was never my intent,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that\u2019s what I meant with \u2018they\u2019 not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yahoo News<\/a> has reached out to Foxx\u2019s representation on the matter.<\/p>\n

One of the affected was actress Jennifer Aniston<\/a>. After a Jewish news organization shared the post, showing that Aniston had allegedly liked it, the Friends<\/em> icon put out a statement of her own via Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis really makes me sick,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI did not \u2018like\u2019 this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds \u2013 I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. And I truly don\u2019t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yahoo News has reached out to Aniston\u2019s representation on the matter.<\/p>\n

Foxx is currently recovering from a health scare. The Ray<\/em> star\u2019s condition first made news back in April, when his daughter Corinne Foxx<\/a> issued a now-deleted statement<\/a> on Instagram that revealed few details beyond the fact that her father was undergoing medical treatment for an undisclosed issue.<\/p>\n

‘We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Corinne wrote, People<\/em> reported<\/a>. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and app<\/a>reciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”<\/p>\n

At the time, Foxx had been in Atlanta filming the Netflix movie Back in Action<\/em> with Cameron Diaz<\/a> and Glenn Close<\/a>. However, the unnamed incident did not take place while Foxx was shooting, and he was not rushed to the hospital in an emergency vehicle, People<\/em> continued.<\/p>\n

The following month, Yahoo Entertainment reported<\/a> that the actor was “stable” and “recovering.” Three weeks after the incident, Foxx made a small return to social media with a written message that read “Appreciate all the love. Feeling blessed.”<\/p>\n

It was later reported<\/a> that Foxx was recovering at a medical facility in Chicago.<\/p>\n

In July, the Texas-born star gave an update on his health, sharing that he had been to \u201chell and back\u201d during the medical emergency<\/a>, shutting down health rumors of vision loss and paralysis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
