\n Former Kinks keyboard player John Gosling has died. He was 75.<\/p>\n

\n The Kinks announced his death on the band\u2019s official social media accou<\/a>nts, writing, \u201cWe are deeply saddened by the news<\/a> of the passing of John Gosling. We are sending our condolences to John\u2019s wife and family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Drummer Mick Avory wrote, \u201cToday we lost a dear friend and colleague, he was a great musician and had a fantastic sense of humour\u2026 which made him popular member of the band, he leaves us with some happ<\/a>y memories. God Bless him\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Guitarist and lead singer Dave Davies said in part that he was \u201cdismayed\u201d and \u201cdeeply upset\u201d by the death of his \u201cfriend and important contributor to the Kinks music.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI will hold deep affection and love for him in my heart always,\u201d Davies wrote. \u201cGreat musician and a great man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Lead singer\/songwriter Ray Davies, meanwhile shared his \u201ccondolences\u201d to Gosling\u2019s family and wrote, \u201cRest in Peace dearest John.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Gosling joined the Kinks in 1970, playing on demos of \u201cLola,\u201d \u201cPowerman\u201d and \u201cThis Time Tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He spoke about the audition in a 2009 interview<\/a>: \u201cThey seemed such an easy-going bunch of blokes! Dave handed me a beer from a crate in the middle of the room when I walked in and there was no starry behaviour. I remember feeling completely at home-almost as if I\u2019d always been there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Gosling stayed in the band until 1978 and was later replaced by Ian Gibbons.<\/p>\n

\n Gosling went on to be a founding member of the band Kast Off Kinks, made up of ex-Kinks musicians including Avory, Gibbons, Jim Rodford and John Dalton. Gosling stayed in that band until he retired in 2008.<\/p>\n

\n The Kinks\u2019 other well-known songs include \u201cYou Really Got Me,\u201d \u201cAll Day and All of the Night\u201d and \u201cA Well Respected Man.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
