\n Jets cornerback Brian Poole was back on the field at practice Tuesday, nearly three weeks after he exited the team\u2019s first practice dehydrated.<\/p>\n

Poole had an extreme reaction to the dehydration brought on by an underlying condition. He spent a few hours in the hospital getting checked out, and the Jets were cautious about allowing him to return to practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was kind of scary,\u201d Poole said of his reaction.<\/p>\n

The Jets are counting on Poole to be their slot corner, a role he filled last season.<\/p>\n

Poole, one of the team\u2019s better defensive players in 2019, was limited to a certain number of snaps on Tuesday but expects to be 100 percent by the end of the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was bugging me for the last, like two or three days of, \u2018I\u2019m good, I\u2019m good, I\u2019m good,\u2019 \u201d coach Adam Gase said. \u201cI think our training room did a good job of making sure we\u2019re checking all the boxes and we didn\u2019t rush anything, even though he wanted to get out there. But to see him be able to get out there and the excitement he had, he looked like a guy that was his first day playing football, he was jacked up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rookie RB La\u2019Mical Perine had a scary moment on Sunday when he was tackled awkwardly at the team\u2019s practice at MetLife Stadium. But the ankle injury he sustained is not as bad as it looked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we got lucky there. As bad as that looked, it\u2019s a low ankle,\u201d Gase said. \u201cWe had MRIs, we did everything to make sure there wasn\u2019t any kind of fractures, there wasn\u2019t any ligame<\/a>nt damage. So hopefully we\u2019ll get him back a lot sooner than the way that play looked.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gase sounded hopeful that rookie WR Denzel Mims could be on the practice field soon. Mims has missed all of training camp with a hamstring injury. The Jets are running out of time to get him ready for the season opener against the Bills on Sept. 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see, I\u2019m not going to predict anything,\u201d Gase said, \u201chopefully we get him back towards the end of the week to where we can kind of see where he\u2019s at and how he\u2019s moving around and see if he\u2019s used these last few weeks to really increase his knowledge of the offense. We\u2019ll get him out there, and we\u2019ll kind of see what happ<\/a>ens over the next 10 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gase said LB Patrick Onwuasor is out at least 4-5 weeks with the knee injury he suffered earlier in camp.<\/p>\n

New center Connor McGovern has big expectations for the offense.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019re an extremely well-balanced offense. I\u2019m excited for this year,\u201d McGovern said. \u201cOnce everyone is back and ready to go for Week 1, I think we\u2019re going to be a pretty dangerous offense.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
