The White House has denied any wrongdoing, and Republicans have been unable to corroborate the claims.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Republicans\u00a0released a copy of the FBI form, known as an FD-1023 form, last month.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>\u2019s Sean Hannity if the allegations constitute a bribery scheme, McCarthy deflected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bribery statute, Mr. Speaker, does not demand that somebody benefit themselves financially. In this case, the vice president, as the 1023 form pointed out, took a specific action and his family, you know, was involved in personal enrichment. That being Hunter. Archer said he was \u201cnot aware\u201d of any wrongdoing by then-Vice President Biden but did say Hunter Biden put his father on speakerphone during some meetings with associates.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Top_Stories_from_The_Hill\"><\/span>Top Stories from The Hill<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">Archer also testified that he was not made aware of bribe payments made to two different Bidens, which are the crux of the allegations in the FD-1023 form.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI think there\u2019s enough proof out there that this Biden family needs to come forward and show there wasn\u2019t a pay-to-play,\u201d McCarthy told Hannity. \u201cAmerica deserves more and Americans want to know. And the one thing I will tell you is, as this Congress, the People\u2019s Congress, we will follow the facts and provide it to the American public, just like the Constitution tells us to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House on Tuesday, for its part, came out against McCarthy\u2019s comments on Fox News, saying the Speaker was \u201clying\u201d in order to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ease the far-right lawmakers in his conference.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, was pressed on the bribery allegations last month and said he was not sure if they were accurate.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know if the allegations are true or not,\u201d Comer told reporters before Congress broke for August recess.<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apple.news\/T7zM9N_S2SDKHQ2PypEf8AQ?subscribe=1\">Sign up for the latest from The Hill here<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>Asked if he would agree that the bribery claim is just an unverified allegation, Comer said, \u201cI\u2019ll not answer that right now, because we\u2019ve got people coming in that hopefully can answer that question better than I can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The conversation about the bribery allegations comes as McCarthy\u00a0floats a potential impeachment inquiry\u00a0into President Biden.
