{"id":586777,"date":"2023-08-12T22:46:22","date_gmt":"2023-08-12T19:46:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/georgia-da-will-present-case-against-trump-early-next-week\/"},"modified":"2023-08-12T22:46:22","modified_gmt":"2023-08-12T19:46:22","slug":"georgia-da-will-present-case-against-trump-early-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/georgia-da-will-present-case-against-trump-early-next-week\/","title":{"rendered":"#Georgia DA will present case against Trump early next week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/AP23110485030512-e1691869225436.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) is expected to begin presenting her case against former President Trump to a grand jury early next week.<\/p>\n<p>Two witnesses in the case said on Saturday that they have been asked to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear before the grand jury on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Independent journalist George Chidi said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/neonflag\/status\/1690421276727279616\">post<\/a> on X, the platform formerly known as <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>, that he had received a call from Willis\u2019 office and was \u201casked to come to court Tuesday for testimony before the grand jury.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former Georgia Lieutenant Gov. Geoff Duncan (R) also said on Saturday that he was called to appear before the grand jury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did just receive notification to appear on Tuesday morning at the Fulton County grand jury and I certainly will be there to do my part in recounting the facts,\u201d Duncan told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/08\/12\/politics\/geoff-duncan-georgia-election-probe\">CNN<\/a>, adding, \u201cI have no expectations as to the questions, and I\u2019ll certainly answer whatever questions are put in front of me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Willis confirmed late last month that she plans to announce charging decisions in the case by Sept. 1, saying that her team\u2019s work is \u201caccomplished\u201d and they are \u201cready to go\u201d after two and a half years investigating Trump\u2019s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>If the grand jury hands up an indictment against the former president, it will mark his fourth indictment in six months. Most recently, Trump was indicted on federal charges over his efforts to remain in power after losing the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>In the indictment, the Justice Department laid out Trump and several unnamed co-conspirators\u2019 efforts to get several states, including Georgia, to gather slates of fake electors.
