The alleged quest encompassed several component parts and a number of big names, all seeking to aid Trump and his desire to stay in power.\u00a0Here are five of the best-known people enabling Trump and a summary of the charges against them.<\/p>\n<p>No arraignments have taken place yet, but it is widely assumed \u2014 based in part on previous public statements \u2014 the defendants will plead not guilty to all charges.<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<aside class=\"promo-link\">\n        READ: Trump indicted by Fulton County grand jury<br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rudy_Giuliani_13_counts\"><\/span>Rudy Giuliani: 13 counts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The former New York City mayor and Trump lawyer is charged with racketeering under Georgia\u2019s anti-racketeering and corruption statutes, as are all the other defendants.<\/p>\n<p>But Giuliani\u00a0faces numerous other charges. Among them are soliciting a public officer to violate their oath, several offenses relating to false statements and two counts of conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree.\u00a0His 13 counts are the same number as Trump\u2019s and more than any other co-defendant.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment outlines a number of acts that prosecutors allege constitute crimes.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>For example, it posits that Giuliani\u2019s presentation to members of the Georgia Senate, while Trump and his allies were seeking to overturn the 2020 election result in the state, amounted to soliciting those members to violate their oaths of office.<\/p>\n<p>It further contends Giuliani \u201cknowingly\u201d and \u201cwillfully\u201d made false statements and representations at that meeting \u2014 such as that a voting machine in Michigan recorded 6,000 votes for President Biden that had actually been cast for Trump.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"More_Trump_indictment_coverage\"><\/span>More Trump indictment coverage<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">A separate count alludes to a meeting later the same month \u2014 December 2020 \u2014 with members of the Georgia House.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The indictment lists even more false statements allegedly made by Giuliani then, including untrue allegations of fraud by named election workers at the vote count in an Atlanta arena.<\/p>\n<p>The forgery charges pertain to an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent effort to put forward unauthorized pro-Trump electors in Georgia, in effect overturning the election\u2019s outcome.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"John_Eastman_9_counts\"><\/span>John Eastman: 9 counts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Eastman, an attorney, only came to widespread public attention because of his pro-Trump efforts.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>He is charged with many of the same offenses as Giuliani, including racketeering and solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer.<\/p>\n<p>Eastman was also party to the December 2020 meeting with Georgia state senators.<\/p>\n<p>One intriguing detail in the indictment is the mention of a phone call in December 2020 by Trump and Eastman to Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr5_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>According to the indictment, the call was made \u201cto request her assistance\u201d in finding people willing to serve as pro-Trump electors in contravention of the official election results. The indictment considers this call \u201can overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>McDaniel has not been charged with any crime.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment also refers to a New Year\u2019s Eve 2020 court filing from Eastman and Trump, suing for \u201cinjunctive relief\u201d regarding the Georgia results. Prosecutors allege the duo had \u201creason to know\u201d the filing contained \u201cmaterially false statements.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr6_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Prosecutors further allege Eastman \u201csent an e-mail to attorneys associated with the Trump Campaign admitting his knowledge that at least some of the allegations in the verified complaint were not accurate.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sidney_Powell_7_counts\"><\/span>Sidney Powell: 7 counts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Powell was a controversial lawyer even inside Trump World, where some loyalists considered her claims outlandish.<\/p>\n<p>The charges against Powell, beyond racketeering, are different from many of the other co-defendants.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr7_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Powell is charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit election fraud; three counts related to computer theft, computer trespass, and computer invasion of privacy; and an additional charge of conspiracy to defraud the state.<\/p>\n<p>The computer-related charges pertain to Powell\u2019s apparent efforts to prove claims of fraud by delving into how the election was conducted in a strongly pro-Trump county, Coffee County.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment includes the allegation that Powell and other allies \u201cunlawfully conspired to use a computer with knowledge that such use was without authority and with the intention of removing voter data and Dominion Voting Systems Corporation data from said computer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It contends the same group \u2014 Powell and three others \u2014 also conspired by roughly the same means \u201cwith the intention of examining personal voter data with knowledge that such examination was without authority.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mark_Meadows_2_counts\"><\/span>Mark Meadows: 2 counts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Meadows was Trump\u2019s chief of staff in the last year of his White House tenure, having served in Congress representing a North Carolina district\u00a0and leading the House Freedom Caucus.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the racketeering charge, Meadows is charged \u2014 jointly with Trump \u2014 with soliciting a violation of oath from a public officer.<\/p>\n<p>The charge seemingly refers to the infamous phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) on Jan. 2, 2021. On the call, which was recorded, Trump urged Raffensperger to \u201cfind\u201d exactly enough votes to overtake President Biden\u2019s narrow margin of victory in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Meadows was also on that hourlong call and spoke up on occasion.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jeffrey_Clark_2_counts\"><\/span>Jeffrey Clark: 2 counts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Clark has been a deeply contentious figure since dramatic developments at the Department of Justice were revealed by The New York Times in late January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Times, Clark, a department official at the time, secretly met with Trump, who was still president, without the knowledge of his superiors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As characterized by the Times, Clark and Trump devised a \u201cplot\u201d that would have seen the acting attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, Jeffrey Rosen, ousted and Clark replace him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Clark would also have sent a letter to Georgia officials contending the Department of Justice found \u201csignificant concerns\u201d with voting in 2020 that \u201cmay have impacted the outcome of the election in multiple states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This was untrue.
