That prompted pushback from the state\u2019s Republican governor, Brian Kemp, who certified the election results after that election. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward \u2014 under oath \u2014\u00a0and prove anything in a court of law. Our elections in Georgia are secure, accessible, and fair and will continue to be as long as I am governor,\u201d Kemp wrote on X, formerly called <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pence pointed to those comments Wednesday, maintaining he had no right to overturn the 2020 election in his capacity as vice president overseeing Congress\u2019 certification of the vote on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I\u2019ll always believed by God\u2019s grace, I did my duty that day to see to the peaceful transfer of power under the Constitution of the United States and the laws of this country,\u201d Pence said to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lause.<\/p>\n<p>Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) on Monday unveiled charges against Trump and 18 others related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia. <\/p>\n<p>Pence said Wednesday that \u201cno one is above the law\u201d and stressed that the former president and others indicted \u201care entitled to the presumption of innocence that every American enjoys.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The indictment comes after Trump faced multiple federal charges brought by special counsel Jack Smith earlier this month alleging the former president orchestrated a campaign to block the transfer of power after the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>After Trump was indicted on the federal charges, which included conspiracy to defraud the U.S., Pence condemned the former president for actions on the day of Congress\u2019 certification and the Capitol riot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur country is more important than one man. Our Constitution is more important than any one man\u2019s career. On January 6th, former President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution. I chose the Constitution and I always will,\u201d Pence said at the time.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Since his indictment on federal charges over the 2020 election earlier this month, Trump has ramped up his attacks on his former vice president.
