She\u00a0also slammed Ramaswamy for comments he has made concerning U.S. support for Ukraine, Taiwan and Israel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problem that Vivek\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0understand is that he wants to hand Ukraine to Russia. He wants to let China eat Taiwan. He wants to go and stop funding Israel. You\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0do that to friends. What you do\u00a0instead\u00a0is you have\u00a0the backs of your friends,\u201d Haley said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ramaswamy said Haley\u2019s claims about his positions were false. Haley was referring to comments the conservative entrepreneur has made that he would end U.S. support for Ukraine and instead\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/vivek-ramaswamy-would-end-support-ukraine-negotiate-peace-settlement\/\">negotiate<\/a>\u00a0a ceasefire\u00a0between Ukraine and Russia,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/vivek-ramaswamy-vows-defend-taiwan-china-us-semiconductor-independence\">defend<\/a>\u00a0Taiwan from any Chinese aggression only until the U.S. is able to ensure independence on semiconductor manufacturing and\u00a0cut\u00a0aid to Israel in a few years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI wish you well on your future career on the boards of Lockheed and Raytheon,\u201d Ramaswamy told Haley. \u201cYou\u2019ve\u00a0been pushing this lie all week, Nikki.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Haley responded with one of the most memorable lines of the night: \u201cYou have no foreign policy experience, and it shows,\u201d she said of Ramaswamy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pence_defends_Jan_6_actions\"><\/span><strong>Pence defends Jan. 6 actions<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the most significant points of the debate came when the moderators asked most of the candidates if they\u00a0thought former Vice President Mike Pence had acted properly in overseeing the certification of the 2020 election on Jan. 6, 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Every candidate who was asked the question backed Pence, though sometimes with different levels of enthusiasm. <\/p>\n<p>Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said Pence \u201cabsolutely did the right thing,\u201d while former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in a notable moment said Pence \u201cdeserves our thanks as Americans\u201d for prioritizing the Constitution over Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But following an extended discussion of Trump and Pence\u2019s actions, the former vice president asked the moderators for a moment to address his own actions on Jan. 6.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr4_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0not about January 2021.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0about Jan. 20, 2017,\u201d he said, referring to when he was sworn in as vice president. \u201cI put my left hand on Ronald Reagan\u2019s Bible. I raised my right hand, and I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and it ended with a prayer, \u2018So help me God.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery day for four years I vowed to keep that oath, and everyone on this stage needs to make clear whether they\u2019ll do the same,\u201d Pence\u00a0added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe asked me to put him over the Constitution, and I chose the\u00a0Constitution\u00a0and I always will,\u201d Pence said of Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr5_ab\"><\/aside>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Christie_says_Ramaswamy_%E2%80%9Csounds_like_ChatGPT%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Christie says Ramaswamy \u201csounds like ChatGPT\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Christie offered perhaps the most memorable insult of the night during an exchange with Ramaswamy, who was a frequent target on stage. <\/p>\n<p>As Ramaswamy was criticizing\u00a0policies designed to address climate change, Christie cut in and branded him an \u201camateur.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve\u00a0had enough already tonight of a guy who sounds like ChatGPT standing up here.\u00a0The last person in one of these debates \u2026 who stood in the middle of the stage and said, \u2018What is a skinny guy with an odd last name doing up here?\u2019 was Barack Obama. And I am afraid we are dealing with the same type of amateur standing on the stage tonight,\u201d Christie said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr6_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Ramaswamy fired back, saying Christie should \u201cgive me a hug just like you do Obama and elect me just like you did Obama too.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>That was a reference to Christie\u2019s beach walk with Obama in 2012 after Hurricane Sandy devastated New Jersey. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the debate, Ramaswamy had invited comparisons to Obama by introducing himself as an entrepreneur and not a politician \u2014 using a line similar to one made famous by Obama. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr7_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cLet me just address a question that is on everybody\u2019s mind at home tonight. \u2018Who the heck is this skinny guy with a funny last name, and what the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage?\u2019\u201d Ramaswamy said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Obama\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/id\/wbna5537216\">talked<\/a>\u00a0in 2004 about how the U.S. could be a home even for himself,\u00a0a \u201cskinny kid with a funny name.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pence_and_Ramaswamy_argue_over_experience_for_office\"><\/span><strong>Pence and Ramaswamy argue over experience for office<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Christie was not the only person to criticize Ramaswamy for a lack of political experience. <\/p>\n<p>Pence described the 38-year-old as a \u201crookie\u201d and argued that the next president should not need \u201con-the-job training.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou got people on this stage that\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0even talk about issues like <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social<\/a> Security and Medicare. I mean Vivek, you recently said a president\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0do everything. Well, I got <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> for you, Vivek \u2014\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0been in a hallway,\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0been in the West Wing. A president in the United States\u00a0has to\u00a0confront every crisis facing America,\u201d Pence said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ramaswamy responded, \u201cThis\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0that complicated, guys. Unlock American energy, drill, frack, burn coal, embrace nuclear. Put people back to work by no longer paying them more to stay at home.\u201d He added that he did not\u00a0\u201cexactly\u201d understand Pence\u2019s comment, but the policies he listed are initiatives a president can do.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll go slower this time,\u201d Pence responded.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden has weakened this country at home and abroad. Now is not the time for on-the-job training. \u00a0We\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0need to bring in a\u00a0rookie. We\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0need to bring in people\u00a0without\u00a0experience,\u201d he continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that\u00a0everybody\u2019s\u00a0got\u00a0their memorized\u00a0prepared slogans out of the way, we can\u00a0actually have\u00a0a real discussion,\u201d Ramaswamy responded.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ramaswamy said the \u201creal\u201d question is if people want \u201cincremental reform,\u201d referring to the others on the stage, or \u201crevolution.\u201d <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ramaswamy_calls_climate_change_a_%E2%80%9Choax%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Ramaswamy calls climate change a \u201choax\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The candidates\u00a0largely\u00a0avoided\u00a0addressing climate issues throughout the debate, but Ramaswamy came down the hardest against pushes for enacting policies to address climate change, calling the idea a \u201choax.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He argued that he is the only candidate who\u00a0is able to\u00a0make that statement because of his position as an outsider and not a politician who is being influenced by money.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m the only person on the stage who isn\u2019t bought and paid for so I can say this: The climate change agenda is a hoax,\u201d Ramaswamy said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He received some boos from the audience after saying this.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ramaswamy has\u00a0railed\u00a0against\u00a0the \u201cclimate change agenda\u201d throughout his campaign, arguing that it is one of the \u201cgrave threats to liberty today.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar Media Inc.
