George Santos (R-N.Y.) on Thursday said he is still not interested in taking a plea deal in his case related to campaign finances.<\/p>\n<p>Asked if would consider a guilty plea that may require him to leave Congress, Santos said, \u201cLook, I don\u2019t know\u201d while <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earing on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>Nation\u2019s \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/danabramslive\/\">Dan Abrams Live<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not making, I\u2019m not making any assertions right now,\u201d he said, suggesting the door may still be open to the decision in the future.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cRight now, the answer is no. But you just never know,\u201d Santos added. \u201cLife is you\u2026 don\u2019t know what life is going to come at you, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The New York Republican was echoing remarks he made last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, right now? No,\u201d Santos said at the time. \u201cRight now, I\u2019m fighting to prove my innocence, and I think that\u2019s what everybody should do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Santos was indicted on 13 counts earlier this year on accusations that he misled donors and misrepresented his finances to the public and government agencies. <\/p>\n<p>He pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, I think anybody would be scared to go to prison, right?\u201d he said when asked by Abrams if he was scared, adding, \u201cBut the reality is, is right now, I\u2019m confident I won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Santos also said he plans to challenge \u201ceverything\u201d from the federal charges to the ethics investigation in the House. Instead, he said he would like to focus less on his past and more on his \u201ccivic duty.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIt is what it is, you just take it day by day at this point,\u201d Santos told Abrams. \u201cI\u2019m human, I\u2019ve made mistakes, I move on.
