\nAMD has announced the pair of new cards that will sit right below the also-recently-announced RX 7900 XT and the RX 7900 XTX. If you don’t need to put a super-high end graphics card in your PC, these two new options look a bit more sensible and more affordable. Starting out with the Radeon RX 7800 XT, the card comes with 60 compute units and 16GB of VRAM, whereas the RX 7700 XT is slightly more sensible, with 54 compute units and 12GB of VRAM. The 7800 XT has a 256-bit bus, while the 7700 XT has a 192-bit one.

\nMore importantly, both cards are built on AMD’s new RDNA 3 architecture, and AMD is promising signifcant performance boosts compared to their direct predecessors and the current competition from NVIDIA in this price segment. AMD says that the Radeon RX 7800 XT manages to beat the NVIDIA RTX 4070 in a range of game<\/a>s, while the RX 7700 XT manages to put up competition to the RTX 4060 Ti \u2014 in both scenarios, seemingly by considerable margins. We’ll have to see how much of a difference is there in real life, and whether AMD’s new cards actually live up to the company’s many promises, since it actually tends to overpromise in occasions. It’s certainly looking promising, at least.

\nThe AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT has a starting price of $449, while the RX 7800 XT starts at just $50 more, at $499. With that pricing, AMD is sure to put some pressure on NVIDIA, especially seeing how the RX 7800 XT might actually be tough competition to the RTX 4070. The cards will go on sale on September 6th, with a free copy of Starfield.
