{"id":588771,"date":"2023-08-27T15:10:42","date_gmt":"2023-08-27T12:10:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/wagner-boss-confirmed-dead-by-russian-officials\/"},"modified":"2023-08-27T15:10:42","modified_gmt":"2023-08-27T12:10:42","slug":"wagner-boss-confirmed-dead-by-russian-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/wagner-boss-confirmed-dead-by-russian-officials\/","title":{"rendered":"#Wagner boss confirmed dead by Russian officials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/crash_prigozhin_082323.jpg?w=900\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A Russian investigation\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sledcom_press\/8455\">concluded<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday that Yevgeniy Prigozhin, the longtime leader of the Wagner Group, was killed in the aircraft crash last week that killed all those on board.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement Sunday, Russian officials said they have determined that the DNA results examined from the remains of those who died in the crash matched the list of people who were purported to be on the flight.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>Prigozhin, who led a short-lived rebellion against Russian military leaders this summer, had been listed among the 10 passengers on the flight list.<\/p>\n<p>The statement Sunday <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be Russia\u2019s first confirmation of Prigozhin\u2019s death. While his name was listed on the manifest, it was not confirmed that he was aboard the private jet when it crashed this past Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The statement Sunday confirms the deaths of all those on the flight manifest, including Prigozhin\u2019s right-hand man, Dmitry Utkin, and Prigozhin\u2019s chief of security, Valery Chekalov.<\/p>\n<p>In remarks Friday, Putin did not confirm the death of Prigozhin, but said he \u201chad a difficult fate.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe made serious mistakes in his life,\u201d Putin said, while acknowledging that Prigozhin had assisted Russia in its goals against Ukraine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen.\u00a0Pat Ryder\u00a0said\u00a0the U.S. believes Prigozhin died but would not comment on whether he thought Prigozhin had been intentionally killed.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cOur initial assessment, based on a variety of factors, is that he was likely killed,\u201d Ryder said.<\/p>\n<p>Prigozhin led a rebellion earlier this summer, marching on Moscow with thousands of troops before halting the advance. He had criticized top Kremlin officials in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> posts and made bold claims scrutinizing the Kremlin\u2019s purported reasoning for the war in Ukraine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prigozhin was exiled to Belarus, in exchange for Putin dropping terrorism charges against the mercenary chief, but Russia has since worked to dismantle the Wagner Group.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Copyright 2023 Nexstar Media Inc.
