After a few big weeks for hurricanes and tropical storms on both coasts, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) noted<\/a> a significant<\/a> amount of activity<\/a> in the Atlantic Ocean on Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cLabor Day is busy across the Atlantic with 2 weak or dissipated tropical cyclones, and 3 candidates for development,\u201d the NHC said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter<\/a>. \u201cWe are closely monitoring Invest #AL95 over the central Atlantic, which is expected to become a TD or TS in a day or two, and strengthen more later this week.\u201d<\/p>\n In the NHC\u2019s Tropical Weather Outlook on Monday, the agency highlighted \u201can area of low pressure\u201d that \u201chas formed from the tropical wave centered about 700 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThe low-level circulation has become better defined since yesterday, with increasing organization in the shower and thunderstorm activity,\u201d the NHC said. \u201cEnvironmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for further development, and this system is expected to become a tropical depression or a tropical storm in a day or two.\u201d<\/p>\n The agency also called attention in the outlook to a \u201cstrong tropical wave over western Africa\u201d that is \u201cforecast to move off the African coast in a couple of days.\u201d The NHC said circumstances could lead to a tropical depression forming \u201cover the far eastern tropical Atlantic around the latter part of the week or the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n The brewing in the Atlantic follows hurricanes Hilary and Idalia, which both hit different parts of the U.S. in the last month.
